Black male skin care

I am often looking for sites that will give me great tips on preserving the condition of my skin, but all the websites i come across always have a pro nubian approach to skin care. I am looking a scientific approach. I dont have a problem with razor bumps and never have.

but I do clipper cut my hair very low now because of a receeding hair line, it doesnt bother me hell I like how much money I save by doing it myself now. I use lab series on my face now, but is it the right product for black skin?

Am I the only brother on the site??

I'm not sure what pro- Nubian means so my approach might be. It isn't scientific only what has worked for my skin. I use black soap and Shea butter. I rarely shave but use the black soap for that also. The skin on my face used to be flaky and my neck used to get very dry, I have not had that problem since I started using this combination.
Hope that helps.

I use Chanel skincare products as well as EvolutionSurf + a Clarisonic. I don't really shave at all anymore; I trim with a trimmer and use a small pair of scissors for precision-cutting. My pseudo folliculitis barbae flares up awfully if I shave. I'll probably be looking to move to a cheaper solution in the future. Of course, I need to find something to hide all the scarring from acne/ingrown hairs but I haven't gotten around to that. I also have no idea what the "pro-Nubian" approach is.

low tech maint: I find that daily use of 100% cocoa butter and vitamin e works well to even out whatever discoloration we get on the neck and face from shaving with blades. I love that black soapwith shea buttah!

Pro Nubian (I hope I spelled it right) products that claim to to from african berries ect. I will look into the chanel line (Great scents for men) Not to boast, but I have great skin, very smooth 100% blemish free. I might get hair bump once every other month, I use to shave with a bic razor and soap when I was younger, Now I just use the clippers.

I wear a shadow beard during the winter months to give my skin a break. I know there is a difference when it comes to the PH balance in our hair products, I was just wondering about our skin.

Kronik you might need to consult a derma that has a good insite on those acne scars , they might be light upper layer keliods are they shinny? laser or peeling might be an option for you. (excuse the spelling)

I use Cetaphil to wash my face with an occasional face scrub (neutrogena right now, but I'm shopping for another). I shave with a pre-shave oil and either Moulton Brown or Art of Shaving Sandalwood shave cream. Thinking about moving to a safety razor from the twin blades I've been using. Also use witch hazel post-shave and a face lotion with SPF 15.

I used the cetaphil years ago, but I always felt like my skin was needing more.

I cannot attest to the quality, but Men Essentials has a line that is allegedly designed for black skin called African Male by ME, you might want to give it a try. They also have a forum on that website where they discuss the product.
