It's always a pleasure to collect a new Vanda parcel. Although it's frustrating when one of the requested swatches sells out during shipping and you realise how awesome the tie would have been.
Also, is there any chance you are going to make up a burgundy garza grossa grenadine like the forest green one any time soon?

Damn, good score on the wool/linen checks. Wasn't sure about it when I got the swatch, but that thing is great.

@KingPSQ, thanks for sharing! I guess you are referring to the Smokey blue glencheck swatch? If so, I just amended the stock online to reflect that we have a few more pieces.

Also, yes we can and probably will do a burgundy grossa grenadine soon. Heading up to see our Italian/English weavers in May, so let us know if you (or anyone else for that matter) has requests.

Terracotta Matka and the Red-Green Fans kimono silk square.

Two Vanda ties, knotted and worn:


Brown-Orange Flowers -- Reminds me a lot of an ancient madder. Finish is really dry and has some "grip" to the fabric when knotted. Still, the weight is perfect and knots well.


Dark Navy Houndstooth (sold out) -- You'd have to look really close to know it's dark navy rather than black and under the right light. Material is a bit more structured and stiff. The resulting knot feels slightly thicker when tied.

Also, bonus Ultimate White Square -- My second. The first one was stolen out of my car along with a suit jacket and belt in San Francisco. Also had it monogrammed, which is worth doing if you're going to wear this one square a lot like I do.

Got the red crepe Gunclub today...super gritty and gauzy. Just awesome.

The only downside is I picked a silk option for my swatch. After handling the unbelievably dry and crisp texture, I'm going to be forced to buy many more silk Vanda's!!

That's good news. I've sent you a PM with some more suggestions. I'm tempted to place another order including the Smokey Blue Glencheck, however I am travelling till early July. Fingers crossed it's still available when I return and I haven't spent too much money in Italy (which, as everyone knows, is very difficult).

These are the suggestions I sent to Gerald. I didn't want to upload the images from other retailers in public. Hope this is alright.

• Navy Piccola Grenadine with small red pindots

• Shantung Herringbone (Navy perhaps)
• Shantung (or Bourette) Piccola Grenadine Double-Bar-Stripe

• Linen with Neatprint
• Navy-Cyan-Dark-Brown-(Cream) Repp

Like all suggestions, and love the last two. Linen neats would be (bad pun) neat

Also a crappy pic, but I posted it in the CM Lounge thread so figured I'd leave it here too. Chive Matka at a clearly fancy wedding Knots extremely well.

I also picked up the navy hopsack and agree with Justin that the hand is amazing. Very soft. looking forward to wearing it once I get back to work. Third of my order was a gren shantung wine-colored with white dots. Will post 'em all once I get back home and have some time for pics.

We're also going to meet with a new printing mill in Como, that hopefully will give us some access to printed linens for ties and pocket squares.

I wore the Chive Matka yesterday as well

And today outing the blue-brown linen check. Also makes a great knot.
