Working on new paper patterns for a custom order (3 3/8" x 55") from @jcmeyer:

That's really awesome, Gerald. I had no idea you'd have to draw out an entirely new pattern for each size combination you make rather than there being some sort of a universal pattern that you simply expand/contract as necessary. That said, I know very little about sewing, though my wife dabbles in it, so it's no surprise I didn't have a clue.

Thanks for sharing it! Would you mind if I use the picture on my instagram?

Not at all- please go ahead.

We definitely could, but keeping a paper pattern allows for best consistency between orders.

@The Noodles - very well done. Great knot!

Some new arrivals on our webstore!

The new self-striped grenadines are a nice alternative to a solid grenadine - those stripes are really subtle when worn.

^ Great tie! Just cinch that knot a bit tighter.

It really is awesome. I definitely need a feeling out period to figure out how to cinch my Vandas. For better or worse, they make a different sort of knot, though I'm not really sure how to explain exactly why that is the case.

Also, being linen, I'm probably trying to baby it just a tad to start things off haha

Nah, just pull it a bit tighter, it won't hurt it. :)

Maybe what you're describing is due to the fact that most Vandas are unlined or very lightly lined? Also, is your tie the same as the one Noodles posted a few days ago? Would be a good option for summer weddings.

I don't think noodles was linen - I had the same shepherd check, but in silk rather than linen

+1 with VVV. I'd be guessing, but I'd bet Noods is the silk one. Either way, both pretty damn good for summery weddings.

I would need someone with more Vanda knowledge to expound upon my little bit. I have plenty of lightly lined ties (few unlined...one of which, not this, is Vanda), but for some reason this one feels lighter (airier maybe?) than those others.
