first post and a total newbie to high-grade shoes/clothing in general (though I've been lurking here for a while).
I just want some input on a new purchase I've just received; a pair of Ferragamo-Tramezza Wholecut Oxfords in Blue.
As I've never had a pair of pure Calfleather shoes before I'm not confident in what's acceptable condition in a new pair; given as I understand it the natural variations in the hide that are present which isn't the case with different kinds of Grained leather.
So I've just received the shoes and there seems to be a few areas of perceptible abrasions to the leather (the most pronounced near the top front cuff, which I have tried to photograph below). Is this regarded as acceptable condition for a pair of brand-new £700 ($1000) shoes?
Even though I purchased them in the January sales at a 30% discount direct from Ferragamo's own e-Shop (after lusting over them for most of the year), given the source they are surely meant to be 1st quality?
I guess I'm finding it hard to be objective both because of wanting them so badly for so long and it being an unprecedented sum for me to spend on shoes/clothing and the uncertainty that goes with that.
Any input on how best to procceed is much appreciated - and keep up the great work with this goldmine of a forum.
