Oh, terrific.  My leather jackets are nearly bulletproof, so I guess that I should be okay, but still good to know.  It doesn't seem too cold though, which means no need to lug around tons of layers which inevitably have the be shed and carried around at tradeshows, which are nearly always aggressively heated.

Best to verify online forecasts. Brussels' weather is nasty atm, with snow/rain and borderline freezing temperatures. Not exactly "leather-weather".

Weather is nice today, keep in mind Paris is more like London than what you'd expect (lots of rain, someone mordant weather for the temp).

I'll be fine. I wear leather all throughout pretty cold winters, and throw on a vest if it goes under about -5C.

^^not to derail the thread, but I remember leather getting really cold in freezing (<0c) temperatures, like the leather itself absorbed the outside temperature...

Thread Starter

Please don't get him started, or we're going to have to read an account of every single winter in which he ever wore a leather jacket, what the temperature was, how he likes to wear leather under a coat, etc. etc.

Anyway, we've got some cool stuff lined up already. Blue Blue Japan, Three Animals (@berlin report !!!), Peir Wu, some more denim producers - what other brands would you guys like to hear about?

Cough.... asshole....

I'm personally the most stoked about Blue Blue Japan.  They had an awesome indigo dyed Type III leather jacket.  That's all I have to say about the subject.

Maybe a stupid question but seriously, why do you go to Paris to see Blue Blue Japan? Why not see it in Japan and focus on European brands while in Paris?

Not a stupid question.  For a few reasons.  The first is purely practical - we don't plan a trip to Japan this year.  The second is that Japanese designers traditionally often showed in Paris, and Japanese and French designers and brands often have much more in common than French fashion with the fashions of other European countries, as much as such generalities hold.  For me, it makes a lot of sense to visit showrooms specializing in Japanese brands while in France.  I would say that French fashion has a lot more in common with Japanese fashion than it does with, say Italian or English fashion, for example.   More generally though, I think that we would like to see the most interesting brands no matter where we go, and Blue Blue Japan qualifies.
