I'm going to open Seattle's first "straight" club.

Give me a place that plays the Doors, has the game on in a corner somewhere, and has a decent beer selection any day.
You must stay home a lot because there isn't a descent place like that in our area.

One thing I learned about homosexual night clubs, black guys are terrible kissers. The DC scene is pretty fun though. I had my best nights at Nations, which closed down last summer. I cried for minutes.

Well, there's Spider Murhpy's, but it's a much older crowd. My friends and I are without fail the youngest people in the joint, so it's not exactly a place to go to meet people, but it has the other desirable elements. Otherwise I make do with Roxy's, the Yardhouse, Rooney's, the Square Grouper, and Bradley's on occasion, all of which have something going for them.

Are you implying something here?

That I don't own a velvet suit?

The Yardhouse would be great, except for the sheer amount of douchebags and trolling women that hang out there. Ever been there on a Friday night? It's obscene. Bradley's is the same way except without the Yardhouses' music and with a snobbier clientele. Roxy's is ok for a big club but I'm not a fan of Clematis street in general. I've never heard of the Square Grouper or Spider Murphy's before. I'll have to look them up.

The Yardhouse does have a pretty significant douchebag infestation, but that's pretty hard to avoid around here. I have been there on a Friday night---the trick is to arrive with a large enough party to insulate yourself from said douchebags. It's worth it on occasion to able to drink that stuff out at a bar, IMO. Spider Murphy's is sort of an Irish dive bar, and it's on U.S. 1 just south of Ruth's Chris in North Palm Beach, where the bartenders know how to pour a Guiness. They have a band with a fiddle player who wears a kilt that plays U2, Violent Femmes, Morrisey, etc. covers. The Square Grouper is a sandy bar (I guess that's the term?) on the intercoastal in Juno just East of Schooner's. Like a more low key version of Rum Bar.

I might have to check out Spider. I've yet to see U2 played via fiddle. I think that would be worth it right there. Thanks for the rec's. I don't know the North Palm area east of US-1 very well yet so I may need to do some searching.
