The vintage stuff can be a great addition to a collection, like these New Old Stock Hanover calf LWBs that will arrive Monday. (This is what happens when EEE Aldens are hard to find.)

Thats another beautiful pair of LWBs!

Casual Friday.

Pretty hard to go more casual with Shell than Whiskey. Those are a great pair and look nice with your jeans.

Ready for the weekend. Unlined BB Black Shells. RL Golf All Cotton Pant. Black belt, white polo RL. Black Tanker watch..

Those Black Shell LHSes are beautiful, but those pants are just perfect, especially for the summer vibe.

To me the Grant last is TTS lenght wise but, if I am going to walk a lot or stand for long times I will go for an E since this last is somewhat narrow.

Thanks!

Normal D on a brannock?

I am on the narrow side of D on a brannock. That's why I was curious.

I was wondering if I'd be able to go TTS on the Grant and Aberdeen D last.

Ocho unlined Dovers.

Are LWBs supposed to be the most common rare shell makeup? I'm up to 10 pairs of rare shell but haven't even been able to catch a sniff of Ravello LWB 10D.

I'd buy or trade almost anything for them..

Got a dumb question for upcoming Plaza Monk NST.

As Hong Kong dealer didn't carry enough Plaza last to try on, I tried 7.5 and found it bit tight, couldn't fit it 7 Barrie Wingtip boot either, so I ordered 8.

Recent Made to Measure found my size actually closer to 7.5 (Brannock 9C/8.5D) due to very thin & low volume feet. In case of heel slip, anything I could try to reduce it?

Really constricting for the shape of my foot. Particularly sad to sell the Cigar cap toes because they were a perfect color. Tread with caution and, as always, get fit somewhere if you can. It will save you a lot of time, money, and heartbreak in the long run. That's a promise.

Thanks for the advice. I'm pretty sure TTS will be fine. I intend on wearing these with slim suit pants and jeans (7" leg opening), so I'm torn between getting the Indys (or Tanker boots) in the Plaza last TTS or in the Grants TTS without it looking too wide/chunky.

I'll probably end-up making the pilgrimage to DC to get properly fitted. I've been meaning to anyway (never been)

I take it that cordovan doesn't stretch as much as calf?

TTS should be fine if you are a true D width or on the narrow side. I personally think that Indy's (truebalance) look goofy with narrow pants, and a Grant lasted boots will be your best choice. Plaza also works but looks a little elongated and pointy if that's your cup of tea (not mine). Good luck! Alden DC is great.

You might want to call them first, I was there 2 weeks ago and they only had one pair in black. I was also in the same situation and after comparing both lasts I decided to go with the Plaza version Indy on Black for formal/business wear. The chiseled toe on the Plaza looks more formal to me than the Grant version and ihe Plaza was available the Grant was not.
