My only real complaint with these is the box that TSM provided. In my size (12.5D-13E) all Alden boxes are basically too small, which means my shoes (and especially the boots) usually come stuffed into a box which is bursting at the seams. This particular box provided by TSM is a complete joke - entirely destroyed on arrival by boots which are way too big for the box. I mean, I know these are 2nd's and all, but can't we have a better box for $599+ boots?

Nice boots!

I've been on the 2nds list for a few months, but I haven't seen anything too interesting.

The Alden boxes definitely need improvement. At least a wider range of sizes, please? My 10.5 3E LWBs were crammed into something resembling my son's stride rite box.

Will shoes and boots on the barrie last fit the same? If US 9.5 C is a perfect fit for me on the cordovan wingtip blucher, should I take the same size for cordovan wingtip boots on the barrie last?

Plus, should I take the same US 9.5 C size on barrie last CXL boots? Asking this because I have heard that cordovan shoes/boots are lasted slightly loose compared to CXL/calf shoes/boots.

In my experience, it varies from shoe to shoe.

It is always best to try on the actual shoe/boot if possible.....otherwise you run the risk of the fit being less than ideal.

I know this is not always practical, especially when you live somewhere with limited Alden retailers.

Is the general consensus that TruBalance runs wider in the ball and toes than Barrie?

Interesting.  I have boots on both lasts and from the pictures, they sure look more like the Modified last to me.  But I guess you need to believe TSM.

Style # 4699C is identical to my boots marked with the 14oz stamp.

Perhaps that's why they are irregulars??? Wrong last???

Incredibly fun project to do and I'm pleased with the results. Let me know your thoughts!

great buy.13E?!?!?!  that's a one in a million buy.

i don't like boots being cramped into small(ish) boxes. size 13 boots should come one boot per box.
