Awesome, thanks for the info. I know I'm in the minority but I actually prefer the way these look over the Ravello version.

Would anyone know of a retailer carrying a Barrie lasted, lined snuff suede chukka on waterloc sole, such as that seen at Frans Boone? I'm looking for an 11.5.

Frans Boone is out of 11.5, J Crew has something similar on Crepe (prefer the waterloc, but this would do as well) but won't ship to Canada.

I'm considering returning my unlined pair as the uppers feel unsubstantial, and look slightly dainty on feet.

Generally, special makeups like that tend to be reserved for one retailer only. There might be slight variations, but you probably won't find that exact one elsewhere. Your best bet is to look for the same makeup but without brass eyelets. I'll poke around.

Understandable. Being in Canada especially makes things difficult.

The brass eyelets would promptly be changed to blind so removing those isn't an issue for me.

Perhaps some of the more experience members can tell me why so many of the retailers state they can't ship Alden shoes out of the country. Is this an Alden policy? Just curious.

It is an Alden policy.  My understanding is that it's to protect various retailers in country A, B, C, etc... from having to compete with the prices of retailers in countries X, Y, Z etc...

Your Mahogany's are looking stellar today. They are looking stellar, especially considering that they are 20 years old. I suspect that their previous owner didn't wear them much.

Hello all,

I just copped a used pair of tassels in brown shell cordovan in a size 12 B from an ebay vendor.

Yet, I kind of doubt that they truly are 12 B's (feel way too wide), especially because inside the shoe, there is only letter,

might it be that this is an old model and this is a 12 B/D? Maybe some older aldens did not have mention of both

heel and shoe width inside?

To all you alden pros, what do you think, 12 B: yay or nay?

!

Thanks a lot guys
