Gents. Been a while. New job, couple kids, working wife makes it difficult, but these came today and I wanted to share. My first on the grant last. I went TTS and they are perfect- not just the fit but really beautiful. Sometimes they are Rembrandts AND shoes ūüėČ

^ nice boots, I'd leave them alone sole wise, the othe sole works better with shell and calf, these are a perfect blend of casual in Suede and Sole.
But, I do get the itch...

@Profligate47
you are looking very good in your Ravello LHSes and Tan Khakis. Those speckled socks are pretty cool, but if the asphalt was a pidge darker, you could blend in completely with it.

@mdubs: Thanks Mike. As always, your comments inspire.

Nice! Who sells those? I like the all eyelets with antique and commando.
Jaydotz. These are eyes and hooks fine by Yenni at B-M. Contact her for options. She is amazing. For an all eyelit boot I know Adam at AoC just did a semi brogue all eyes #8 w. Antique but I don't believe it was on commando I think double leather or water lock. AoC is also an amazing shop with which to work! Good hunting!

Shell Perf cap toes. Just pushing back against the tide of casual Friday.

Shoe on the left is 11.5 E.  I bought them lightly worn from a great seller here on B&S.  Shoe on the right is 11.5 D.  Brand new, never worn.

The D width feels pretty tight across the toes and my third and fourth toes are right at the edge. You can see that the lacing is father apart than on the E.  My question, for anyone who has had these, is how much the unlined suede gives over time?  Right now the E definitely has more of the "slipper" feel, but I'm getting a little movement in the heel.  I'm wondering if D might break in enough to be a happy medium.  (FWIW, I have 11 D in unlined CXL (Barrie) and 11 C Indy.)

I've gotten rather obsessive about this, even by SF/Alden standards.  I think I'll be good with either one, but I'd welcome any thoughts.  Thanks.

Thanks. Yenni at B+M makes Color 8 on the Plaza Last if that works well for you.

All great pictures from the usual suspects. Old Whiskey LHS's about to sent in for Recrafting but very hesitant to allow them to touch the colour in the process being lighter shell. Has anyone had Whiskey recrafted by Alden before? Hate to loose all the white stitching..

Your Whiskeys are looking good. Personally plan to recraft all my exotics with a request for them to not touch the uppers. @SteveFok just did a whole batch of shoes including exotics with several cohorts in crime from Asia to save on shipping. Suggest that you hit him up for his experience. I know he posted it here and was creating a journal article on it.

Hah! Those are the antithesis of casual Friday, but you are looking very dapper today and those are the perfect foundation for that!

personally, I would go with the D width.....it looks like you could not lace up the E more tightly if needed

I know that the conventional wisdom is to go TTS plus a width, but my suede chukkas are TTS

I'm currently watching the men's equestrian event at the Olympics while wearing my shell Alt Weins.

Irony?

Love it.

I broke the laces on my eBay Alden x BB shell PTB's the first day I had them - these 3mm flat waxed laces finally arrived from Germany

I much prefer the look of flat laces with these...
