Thanks! I have a best man gig coming up. All tuxes coming from Mens Wearhouse. I told them I'd pass on the shoes and instead used the excuse to add to my Alden collection. Need to add just a *little* of my own touch.

Very nice! I was deciding between these and a hunting green PTB from UM. Ultimately went with the later. I hope they end up looking as nice as these. I have a tendency to just buy LWBs, so I needed to keep myself in check.

12D TTS.

So you're not an incredibly unusual size.  That would likely put you in a 11.5D in Barrie-lasted shoes.  (I'm also a 12 in most TTS shoes/lasts, and 11.5D in Barrie is an awesome fit for me).  Yenni does order that size, but often not more than one or two per run, and the custom makeups often seem to sell out of that size in general (not just w/ Yenni), with months or even a year between runs.  Net:  I feel your pain, though it is probably healthy for my wallet...

That makes you competition for me...    ;)

Hey, at least it's friendly competition. I was the one from Reddit who pointed you to the brown CXL tankers!

I've only had Barrie and Trubalance for Alden (about 6 pairs or so) so I haven't had a TTS last. I'm an 11.5D on those but I've only seen that size in a Plaza last on B&M.

Thanks Mike! I'm in awe of your collection. I spend way more time than would be considered healthy looking at you website.

My intro into Aldens is directly related to my 2 wheeled hobby. Stubbled across the brand while looking for a solid riding boot that didn't look ridiculous. Haven't looked back since.

So far I'm only TB and Barrie too.  Kathy in DC fitted me on Hampton and apparently I'm 11.5E there, so I think the key is to get to a good place and try on lasts you're interested in.

Sadly, I'm apparently going to struggle to find a monk-strap shoe.  Both AE and Alden lasts for that design aren't quite right for me... :(

So I got a text from @gatszu the other week and was expecting some good old fashioned AE barn weaseling. What the message contained instead, was a killer deal on some new Alden shell! When I expressed my temptation, gatszu badgered me on to go for it. Indeed, AE barn wealsing's all fun and games till that dirty, mean, and nasty Alden badger comes along... Alden badger don't give a shit about your wallet!

This past Friday a pair of 975's arrived. Even with the large patch of dry/rough shell on the side of the left shoe, they were totally worth it.

Thanks bud! I appreciate your comments and sentiment. I probably spend too much time putting the site together, so I am glad that people are using it! Cool that you got into them through motorcycling, a rather interesting route to discovering Shell Cordovan, but regardless the end justifies the means here! :-)

Congratulations on your new shoes, that is truly a fantastic model, and I am sorry about the badger.

I haven't had great luck getting 12D on stock orders from AoC or B+M but they will certainly help you out if you know what you want before a model goes into production. @ScarsdaleVibe

I was able to get a 12E on the #8 wtboot w/ antique edge form b&m, along with an E width unlined ptb #8 in 11.5. I had to pay in full for the wtboot, but the ptb I was only required to put $200 down

Alternatively, you could look at C&J for some offerings. We've been gmto's over on gyw. Have a dundee in the works, a lindrick in brown shell that's hopefully coming to fruition, along with some whiskey offerings

Yeah, I have a pair of MTO whiskey Cheviots that I ordered while working an assignment in London earlier this year. Unfortunately the first time I wore them in NYC they got a pigeon sh*t stain on them!
