Gentlemen,

I hope you don't mind another shot of these, but I received them back late yesterday afternoon and wanted to show the work my cobbler did for me:

These are perhaps the darkest shade of whiskey/saddle shell cordovan I have ever received to date.  Nice warm mid-tan shade.

My cobbler and I chose to leave the heel exposed due to these being strictly for summer wear.

Happy Saturday!

@Watchman1 those certainly are dark! Do you have a side shot of the sole? How much does a toppy like this cost? Thank you!

Excuse the repost. Playing with new software. Instant vintage Alden LWB.

Warning: Previously seen image, sort of. (Click to show)

Thank You Sir!

The cost is $30-$40

Here is a front shot:

The Topy is indistinguishable if that is what you were implying.

Thanks.

It's very inconspicuous. I like it! I'm starting my Alden collection and thinking if I should topy them for longevity.

I did an AoSD post a while back on Toppys. I personally like them as they definitely extend the life of the Outsole and since they are just glued on, they don't impact resoling at all. As Joel noted, they are virtually indistinguishable from any sort of angle. They also come in all sorts of colors so you can go funky or go for a color that matches the edging more closely.

I asked about suggestions for new shoe storage a little while back, here is what I decided.

Went with the Ikea Billy bookshelf as I wanted something that would not stick out too far in the room (probably would only be ideal for size 8.5 and under though as the shoes do stick out a bit), I also wanted adjustable shelves to change based on shoes or boots. The whole setup cost me $180 CAD, which was $99 for the unit and the 4 shelves it came with and $80 for the additional 4 shelves. Chose one glass shelf for the top which will be for polish, brushes etc. When installing the shelves I put them on a slight angle to help show off the footwear. I think it turned out to be a solid choice.

Great looking storage design! I really need to do something like that myself.

I have done most of my Toppys with the San Marcos Boot Shop. They have a nice variety of colors and have done good work for me.

Dang, that's a great look and posting. The Color 8's look just dynamite especially with your Selvedge.
