Alden sizing question: I am a 12D Brannock and sized down 1 full for my 403 boots (TB last) to 11D. The width is great and length is just about right, but another quarter inch would be perfect. The boot is, however, a bit voluminous. Would I take the same size in Barrie, or 11.5?

Most people go down 1/2 size from Brannock to TB and Barrie, but since you went down a full size and it's a bit short but good in the width I would say to try 12C Barrie or 11.5D Barrie. Definitely not 11D, it will be way too short.

Barrie is a wide but not especially elongated last. The reason most go down 1/2 size is due to the sparse availability of narrow widths. Going down a width may be the best choice.

Still one of my favorites. I think some people are put off by them, but they just don't realize how well these boots age. The leather and welt change color over time and develop a great patina.

Patina ain't just for shell.

Agreed! I was 2 years into my 405s and they were coming along nicely and they developed a tear in the back seam. Sent them back to Alden, who said they couldn't fix them, so they just sent me a new pair. And so the new journey begins....

Trying out a new pair of J Crew PCTs. Also realized color 8 looks really good with darker denim..

Looking great brother. The JCrew PCT Boots is a great makeup... And yes! Alden's and dark denim are a great combination, especially Color 8.

Thrifted a few pair recently, really love cleaning them up its pretty relaxing

Happy Friday!

Terrific combination and stunning boots!

Alden x anatomica. These fit larger than other modified last shoes I have that are the same tagged size. Works with thicker socks but a bit disappointing because the modified last shoes I have are easily my best fitting Aldens

Sorry to hear that 100! Unfortunately, that is sometimes the way it works out. But they do look lovely.

Snow in March. Reason to break these out. Reverse tobacco chamois wingtip from B+M.

Sorry about the snow, but concur that its great that you get to wear those boots.

OG h-ford stylin today

Just to follow up, Alden agreed to recraft if I brought back to AoM. I didn't get out completely unscathed though, picked this up-

I need some photos of those Epaulet TO Tie Guy boots in the wild. Still sitting sort of undecided on my preorder for them...

We sound very similar. I did the exact same thing and the 11D was too short. I went with 11.5D and it was good length-wise, but became sloppy with wear (CXL stretched a lot).

I ordered a 11.5C from TSM but after a try-on it was evident that the decreased width would interfere with my toes.

I went with 12C and they're good. If I ever see a 12B on the irregular I'll probably grab it.

Agreed. Mine are cxl, but they are aging distinctively as well. I contributed to the patina today at a festival in Austin.
