much like the unlined suede bluchers/chukkas, these are lightweight and crazy comfortable.

Those are awesome.

You wear Chup socks in the hot heat?

Pictures just do not do the Alden Michigan Innsbruck Epaulet justice. These are some comfortable boots. I've worn them about 4 times now. They are breaking in nicely!

Picture beside my pair of Wolverine 1000 miles. This is my 2ND exchanged pair directly from wolverine. And they keep sending me bad boots with terrible grain! I've given up lol.

I think I will just stick with Alden.

Look at this horrid loose grain! My first few steps lol. This is the second pair wolverine has sent me. Both were just like this same thing on the left boot.

thanks! and yeah to the chup socks (good eye, by the way).

a thinner sock would probably help beat the heat, but i get a better fit with a thicker sock, which is a common theme for me.

Gotcha, I agree. I feel like Chup socks were made for certain lasts like Barrie!

I have the same pair of 1K's and they look the same as yours - but on the flip side they've been my traveling boots through crappy weather and did a commendable job as beaters. So to me they have their place.

Maiden voyage report: Some SF members may be interested, so a few comments after one day or wear. I was really pleased with the shoes. The break occurred in the proper location across the vamp with none on the toe box. The expected few creaks of new leather sound were gone my noon. The slight tightness in the right toe box (typical for all my shoes because of my feet) loosened during the day and I feel as if the shell was slowly compensating and that the cork bed was gradually assuming a new position. The combined effect was really good and allowed for the laces to be tightened for a closer fit. By the end of the day I felt as the shoes were now far closer to really fitting my feet and breaking in. In short, I REALLY like this combination of shoe, shell and last. The downside is that I am really tempted to see what other make-up I can locate in shell on the Hampton. I highly recommend a pair if your needs go this direction. I am excited to see how they feel after 4-6 wearings.

I did not put the link in. But, this is what I was referring to. This is the 2ND pair directly from wolverine. I paid full MSRP to avoid factory seconds. And both of them same bad grain, same left boot. They will let me mail them back I've spoken to Shelby in the 1000 mile department. But, at this point after already going through a exchange. I'm just gonna keep them as beaters too! $360 beaters lol.

I'm upset. They should mail me a pair first. And I will drop these off at FedEx! This is a pic of my brand new boots.

Picked up a pair of Unlined Suede Plain Toe Bluchers in Snuff for summer and after two days I can already tell they are going to be my go to Summer shoes due to comfort and color!  Now I'm already jonesing for a pair of suede chukkas in Tan next.

With that being said my OCD is kicking in and I am having a hard time finding a belt I feel is suitable to wear with Alden Snuff Suede....

Any suggestions for something in the 1.25in/35mm width range, preferable silver toned buckle?  (Luckily my OCD is not so bad that I require a suede belt and leather would be acceptable as an option as well.)

The best option I have found thus far is Carmina Snuff Suede Belt but I am unsure if the color is too far off Alden Snuff.  I ordered an AE belt in Snuff and the color was too off to even go with the shoes in a tonal manner.  I have yet to find a leather belt I feel works with them either.

*sigh* First world problems

@chris4prez have you checked out Epaulet 's snuff belt? That's what I pair with.

@tricky unfortunately they only have a 32 left to order and that is too small for me, I likely need a 38.  What's the width on the Epaulet's snuff belt (1in or 1.25?), maybe I can contact them and see if they have more coming in.
