I'm partial to the 4065 straight tip on Grant

Black shell wingtip boot on commando would be my boot of choice, but you can't go wrong with the tanker either.

I will tell you guys this, Epaulet Michigan Innsbruck boots look so much better in person! Very similar to a Indy, only the Michigan has a 360° degree welt.

Commando sole is nice! I can see these lasting years before they need a re sole.

I'll get some pics up tomorrow.

I just called Yenni today and droped the 200 bones for the pre-order on these as well. Can't wait til they arrive. Argh, October!!

That would be good.  They've always struck me as a sort of "squared off" (almost moc toe) version of the Indy...

Dubs and Duck,
Thanks for the props. I'm loving these Cigar WTBs. I'm trying to wear them in good health and like boots not a Picasso.

Just saw the new Leffot Hoodoo boot as the Walter replacement. I don't see much hope for the Rydenboot being made to spec. Sad because I could have really seen myself buying a black shell casual boot with antique edge.

Hello all,

I recognize a few from the AE thread, which I frequent, alas been just a lurker on this thread. Introducing my first Alden pair. Alden for J Crew Indy. I have a very good gut feeling this will affect my wallet immensely in future purchases. These are more sturdy and heavy feeling than both my Wolverine 1000 mile and AE Dalton and I like that feeling. I'll have a shot in the wild of them probably Tuesday. Hope everyone is enjoying their holiday weekend.

Pretty sure my pants don't match with the convention center carpet, nor do they match with my socks. But they look damn fine with their partner in crime - the trusty old 9901.

And extra sad because I (and I'm sure others) passed up on the Walter because we had deposits on the Ryden boot.

Speaking of black shell boots from Leffot, seems like there'll be a pre-order for the naval boot on Tuesday: https://leffot.com/shop/index.php/shoes/alden/40751-pre-order.html
And the #8 Tanker boot: https://leffot.com/shop/index.php/shoes/alden/40349hc-pre-order.html
