I think I will vote for the hand stitching. I think on both the indy boots and the tanker boots, it adds a lot of unique character. I particularly think it works well for the cordovan Indy boots I have owned because they are E widths - I feel like the stitching "breaks up" the shoe a bit while machine stitching would make the forefoot of the shoe look essentially like a uniform rectangle

my preferences have changed over time

2009 - machine stitching was da bomb

2016 - handsewn indys are the titz
