Thanks, it's not a red as some Ravello but it does have some nice hints of olive which is awesome. Perfect compliment pair to my 975s.

Hard to believe Ravello is getting so hard to get.  I think some will be released in 2016.  The AoM Ravello WT boot has yet to be confirmed.

Nice to see a little whiskey and cigar getting made.  At least there's hope!

I hope so. I've been on a ravello cap toe list with DC for over a year now, but who knows when I'll get a shot as I'm a common size. It'll be nice when it happens though.

^ all time great. Zipphy.. This boot never comes off as a monster boot yet has a 360 welt and looks great dressed up or down. Tweener .. Sic Boot!

What if they have 20 pairs and send out an email to get on the list, but then end up selling them to their 20 top repeat customers... and then 6 months down the road they get another cool model coming down the pipeline and send out another email, only to end up selling them to that same 20 repeat customers that bought the first model?

Unfortunately there is no perfect way to do it.  I like DC's method though, but I can see how it might upset a regular who has bought 15 pairs from them when they are told they are being put at the bottom of the list.

Terrific looking Atom Bluchers. Those are lovely and that old Cigar is magnificent. Sadly, my jury is still out on Atoms. They look like a Shortwing and a Longwing got married and had a child and named it Atom. Regardless, if one popped up in my Tremont size, I would be hardpressed to pass it up.

Haha, it's all good and I like the policy as it still gives a shot (or illusion of) to the quick responders. It's a hard game for the retailers so I feel for them, not easy to keep everyone happy with the crazy demand and small runs. I do still like the idea of open lists like TSM and DC rather than the "in the know" circles approach, mainly because I don't spend enough to be in the know though lol. If I was I would be very happy I was being considered for rare items first. Frankly at this point guys like @mdubs & @MrDV and anyone else spending that kind of dough on their collections have earned first crack imo. I really hope the Mayor was able to get in on that Cigar medallion cap toe as I know he would like an Alden upgrade of his brown shell Strands.

On that note, can you blame Leffot for giving this guy first crack at anything he wants from their upcoming stock?

I wish my closet looked that organized. Thank you for your sentiment. I have managed to weed out another AE from my rotation.

Now I am pretty apprehensive to share these, but others have already... Alden Whiskey Tanker Boots both in the shade and in the sun. Along with comparison for color purposes with the Ravello NSTs that I wore yesterday as well as my Whiskey Indy Boots from last year. I was warned that the 2016 Whiskey was a little darker, but its still a nice color.

Next to Ravello NSTs worn yesterday.

Color comparison with 2015 Whiskey Indy Boots.

Plan to do the normal photo shoot tomorrow, but may take a day or so to post the pics.

Certainly a possible scenario. But not very likely...IMHO because many of the top customers already have many of the models offered or don't want the model being offered. I've turned down several retailers offers when a model comes along. I will admit I've bought a lot of Alden shell shoes/boots in the last 3-4 years. However the thing that's worked best for me has been building relationships. I call my fav retailers every 2-3 months and see how they are doing? What they are working in non shell models, and in general tell them I appreciate the service they offer. How many of us have actually told these guys and girls they are awesome and thank you?

This.  It's always personal.  It's never just business.  This is especially true of small mom-and-pop shops.  Everyone knows the nicest customers, and everyone knows the most difficult ones.

Definitely, most people approach Alden like its a big business as well. But they are, as they would say, a heritage brand. They aren't interested in becoming the next Nike. Their customer base is important to them.
