Was the plaza you tried shell or other material? It depends on how you like your shoes to fit (snug or loose) but I would not expect/depend on stretch with wear, especially with shell. The cork footbed will settle after break in and your feet will drop a bit into the shoe, but usually that's not significant enough to alter the fit. In my experience suede and CXL will stretch with wear, some people will even size down to compensate, but shell will never stretch. So if you are ok with the outside toes touching, then 7E is fine, otherwise I'd size up to 7.5E.

Ohhhh nice!  Missed that one.    I'd be in on #2 if you're doing C width, and of course if Alden agrees.

AoM: "One thing we have decided moving forward is that we will play favorite to people who shop here regularly. If you have not purchased any shoes from our store, we may pass over your response for someone who has proven to be a loyal customer. We like to reward those who have helped make our store so successful all these years. Picking up your next pair here could go a long way in the future."

Might as well not even send the list at all.

I don't like tight shoes.
I would try 7.5E plaza.
Fantastic boots Mike. Your boots look even crispier than Tifosi's.
Great boots and thank you for all the euro retail Intel.
Thank you sir.
So nice. I've always wanted a pair.
Outstanding sir.

I tried shell boots in 7E and 7.5E.

7E looked great on my feet, proportional to me, but was slightly worried about the outside toes touching.

7.5E looked slightly long on my feet, but the width felt very good, with room up front.

Anyone have an idea on the length between grant and the plaza last?  My ill-fitting 7D Plaza boots are almost the same length as my Grant 7.5D boots, but wasn't sure if this is always the case.

Is the plaza last longer than the grant last?

Don't you think this will weed out the ebayers just trying to make a profit? I think its a good policy. TSM seconds email comes out and I get it hours after everyone else so I have no chance. At least here I have a chance as a repeat customer and as someone who can't check email every 2 minutes.

Another LS in the making.

I wonder if my $800+ pre-paid pre-order of the Ravello WT boot from June 2014 counts.

Are you implying ebay flippers aren't already their best customers... jk

Haha, it's all good and I like the policy as it still gives a shot (or illusion of) to the quick responders. It's a hard game for the retailers so I feel for them, not easy to keep everyone happy with the crazy demand and small runs. I do still like the idea of open lists like TSM and DC rather than the "in the know" circles approach, mainly because I don't spend enough to be in the know though lol. If I was I would be very happy I was being considered for rare items first. Frankly at this point guys like @mdubs & @MrDV and anyone else spending that kind of dough on their collections have earned first crack imo. I really hope the Mayor was able to get in on that Cigar medallion cap toe as I know he would like an Alden upgrade of his brown shell Strands.

On that note, can you blame Leffot for giving this guy first crack at anything he wants from their upcoming stock?

I do not think those who have been hoarding shell since 2009 should be the only ones allowed to buy it. I will still try to put my order in though and hope for the best.

I did not participate n the most recent aom exotic run, however, I believe they have a fair policy.
They receive hundreds of emails to fill an exotic run w 12 - 18 slots. A combination of first come first serve w consideration for repeat customers sounds fair to me.
I doubt a casual "eBay flipper" will end up with a rare model from aom.

Long time lurker, will finally start posting a bit. Ugh. Tried for those cigars from Alden NY. Saw the email after 4 minutes, sent my reply after 9. Wasn't even close to getting them. I wish they'd just raise the price a bit to get the eBay guys to stop buying them and let them last for at least 20 minutes or so. :P FWIW, I've never actually bought from them, so I guess I'll get passed over in the future even if I reply immediately. I can't be too disappointed though, as I have Whiskey bluchers coming thanks to a helpful post here from yesterday. :) Will post a pic of my collection when I get my 3-year old tobacco calf plain toe boots back from Roleclub / Brian the Bootmaker.

Missed the cutoff by three names. It would have been nice to have a cigar shell balmoral but no worries...You guys ever heard of Edward Green? wink.gif
