Just a quick PSA -- for those in the DVM area, AH One shoes/repair is hosting an Alden trunk shoe at their store in Springfield, VA this Saturday.  Their address is 6426 Brandon Ave, Springfield, VA 22150.  I am not affiliated with the store, but did drop off a couple pairs of Aldens for repair based on reviews on this forum.  Will let you know of the results next week.

Aram is fantastic - I send all of my shoes to him and recommend him without hesitation.

PSA, Epaulet has 4 new Alden preorders up. One is quite an interesting Innsbruck Alt Wien blucher, and there's also a color 8 version of the TO Tie plaza wingtip boot!

That #8 Plaza wingtip is quite tempting.

I'm trying very hard to not go for that one as well. Definitely got the alt Wien blucher though!

Despite being on the list for the Ryden and Brixton, I jumped on the #8 Plaza Wingtip.  The commando sole sold me.  Also, put down for the #8 Alt Wien.

While I love the look of the Plaza wing it is a bit sleek for me however I jumped on the #8 Alt Wien...I really have been holding out for a perfect Viberg derby or B34 lasted AE shoe - this fits the bill pretty well..not quite as chunky as I was hoping but the storm welt and commando will help.

i think their brixton model is as perfect as you can get in a wingtip boot. the plaza pushes too far into the world of CM.

Think I'm going to jump on the snuff suede TO Tie Guy Boot through Epaulet. I know this has been asked an answered plenty before, but any advice for plaza sizing? Think I read to go up a width from Barrie (i.e. 10.5D to 10.5E), which is what I do with Grant and Aberdeen, but can't find those posts in this massive thread...

I am on a pre-order for that as well...though while this is not the place to get encouragement to sell anything...With the #8 J Crew captoe, #8 Indy, #8 NST boot(on order) and #8 brixton wing boot(on order) I think one may have to go..

i'm glad someone else asked this question because i've done a fair amount of online research (including the sizing guides on this forum and elsewhere) and can't find anything on the plaza last to try on in person.

i have experience with the trubalance, modified, barrie, and leydon lasts. i'm 9.5 in everything but the leydon, where i find a 10 works best. however, my leydon-lasted shoes are unlined suede chukkas, so i'm not sure if they're a great gauge of the size of the last. does anyone have any advice on whether to stick with 9.5 or move up to 10?
