oregon hill indy boots from need supply co. for casual friday:

i really like the texture of the reverse chamois. not that i need another pair of boots (haha, how many times have i said that?) in reverse chamois, but wearing these boots reminded me that standard & strange has a pre-order going for a plain toe boot in reverse tobacco chamois. might not have room for both boots in the rotation, though.

on a related note, does anyone happen to know where i could find out more information about the chamois/reverse chamois leather? i've looked around on the internet but haven't had a lot of luck. would like to read up, if possible.

One last cleanup of the season.  My two favorites - AoDC Cigars and Leffot Navals.

Since I had previously mentioned it here in the thread, I wanted to follow up and let everyone know that babygirl Leaman has arrived, safe, happy, healthy and fortunately with her mother's good looks! Only 24 hours and she already has me wrapped around her finger!

Momma did a great job during delivery and is in great spirits while also feeling well (as well as one could after giving birth).

I didn't end up in Aldens that day as I was breaking in a pair of Edward Greens at home when it was time to head to the hospital. Figured I could still share a pic or two. Sorry no baby photos going online yet. Have a terrific day!

Congrats Ben!

So, if my heal-to-ball measurement is a 12 (10D heal-to-toe), shouldn't the ball of my foot be way ahead of the widest point of a 9.5D Barrie? Surprisingly, it aligns perfectly with the widest of the shoe.

I'm a 9.5 heel to toe and a 10/10.5 heel to ball, B width. I wear a 9.5 B in the Barrie and it fits beautifully (and, for reference, a size 10 in the Hampton). I would pay attention to the heel to ball fit and ensure that the widest part of your foot is aligned with the widest part of the shoe. If that works then see if your toes are comfortable. If not, the Barrie may not be for you. To me heel to ball is more important. I was recently sized at AE and the salesman said I needed a 9D. I knew this was wrong but tried on different sizes and widths at his behest all the way from 9E to 9.5 C to 10B. The best fitting shoe in their Park Avenue was a 10B. So, the moral of the story is get measured and use that as a guide, not an absolute. It's about the last.

The toes are comfortable, but there's a lot of space in front of them. If I had sized based on my heal-to-ball, I honestly think the shoe would be twice the length of my foot. How much space do you have in front of your toes?
