Been chatting with the guy.

Confirmed that these are indeed the TSM seconds of last week. He wants 900 via PP invoice or 850 should you relinquish your rights/protections and send payment via gift.

I saw that as well ulterly ridiculous but hey if someone is willing to pay it. Eventually Alden is just going to increase the price of "rare" shells to 1k, kill the resale market.

At least he is willing to negotiate on some basic level.  Ask him if he will take 699 plus shipping because that is what he paid.

Everyone seems to forget FeeEbay and paypal...you have to add 15% to the selling price to break even......

Even alden will eventually figure out that if other people are selling their shoes at a particular price point, why shouldn't they sell at the price point on the front end.

I'm aware however that doesn't necessitate a doubling of the price. The free market will decide however if the hype train keeps rolling prices could quite a bit further north quickly.

would there be enough people willing to spend that much more? Although with shell being extinct since 1983 I guess we are still lucky it is under $4k a pair. Raising prices in steps will keep people buying a huge jump and not so sure.

Sorry was not exactly referencing that listing, my bad - some people don't sell on Ebay and do not realize how much it costs the seller..

Yea, depending on the model of course. There are a lot of variables to consider however I think enough peoe would be willing to pay 4 figure prices.

The price he has them listed at is about a 50% mark up.

The hopeful ambition these guys have is to gouge the Asians for a profit...most of the time.

I understand trying to recoup your costs and shipping, duties etc.

My heart is that the boots and shoes would go to someone here that will enjoy them.

Its all about the community.

I have been thinking about what would get me to bite at a big price jump to the 1K range and I guess it would be this boot in ravello with a storm welt on barrie/trubalannce, all eyelet and commando sole...outside of that not sure there is another makeup that would get me there.

I think that everyone has their unicorn eventually the prices will get there $40 at a time anyway, which would mean in about 5 years or so. Really not that far out, especially when some preorders might not be delivered until then anyway lol.
