Nice! Which makeup is this?

I'm in the market for a king WT boot on commando. Idc so much what last. Barrie or Plaza is fine. How do you like these? Are they a dress boot or an everyday type boot for you? Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
1. Leffot is awesome.
2. Great boots! Thanks for sharing some shots. I can't wait for the similar boot I'm waiting on from Yenni at B+M! You wear them well... enjoy.
3. Leffot is awesome.
100x this.

If you have a narrow heel and low in-step (I do as well), I've found this last is a challenge. I wear a 10C/D TTS. In the Barrie last, 9.5C works well on shoes or boots I plan to wear with dress socks. A 9.5D is fine when I'm getting a commando sole and boot socks are the plan. In Plaza, I go 10C or 10D with the same logic in mind.

The Grant last, however, I have in 10D and even with thick boot socks it feels a little sloppy on the fit from the heel to the ball but mostly in the waist of the shoe. The toe box is perfect. I haven't tried a 10C but I'm afraid that with thick boot socks it will be too close in the toe. The Grant last may just not be for me. I have two boots on it that I love and still wear them, but I will go with literally any other last moving forward. That isn't meant to discount the Grant last - I'm bummed because in my opinion it's the nicest aesthetically.

It seems to me the trick is the combo last. On a C-width Barrie, I'm actually using an A-width heel. Or B-width heel on a D-width. Maybe @mdubs has some sizing advice on non-combo lasts.

Chris

Thanks Chris! This is the AF79 from AoC. I love it. It's getting a lot of use this winter. It's a little snug on me even though its Barrie so I don't wear a boot sock, just normal OTC dress socks. It's primarily a dress boot for me as I am business casual (dress trousers, flannels, odd jacket, etc.). I've worn it with a suit once or twice, but only during inclement weather. It's got a 360 flat welt, so it's a little dressier than a storm welt, but not by much. Great boot all around. Also note it doesn't have brouging on the heel like other WTBs.

Needed to get a few trousers hemmed, so wore my 975s out with some very casual chinos. First time I've tried this combo. I liked it, wifey not so much...

Next up, denim and 975s! "I'm out there Jerry! And I'm loving every minute of it!"

It looks like the most recent Context Tanker #8 with antique edge. The pull tabs are the unique part that differentiate it from most of the other antique-edge tankers (Leffot, AoM).

That's the one, well said @postal007. This makeup checked off so many boxes on my want list; commando, antique edge and storm welt all in an NST. The pull tabs aren't exactly functional given their tiny size but they don't take away from it either.

AOM will get them this year without pull tabs. You can put your name down for them. Here's the model:

my favorite part about this boot is the fact that is has no stitching on the side panels. So clean. So smooth.

I like the darker welt, too

did Alden once upon a time offer an option to get an A/D instead of A/C or B/D? I think they did and the combo last marketing is a carryover from that time
