So, I've also been buying things that fit me better.

Tis a good thing! For what we pay for these shoes, they ought to fit right !

These are perfection. Color 8 Tankers were the first pair of shell Aldens I ever bought and I think to this day they're my favorite model. Maybe color 4 tankers could convince me otherwise...

I really need these shoes to be work horses, so I would line to have Vibram topys installed. There doesn't seem to be any stellar cobblers here in Wichita, so I am thinking about sending them to Brian Nelson, but I think that shipping will be as much as the job itself (~$20 each way).

I have read that some cobblers recommend wearing shoes for a few days before installing topys - for those of you who use them, is this standard practice or do you have them installed when brand new?

Thanks!

Howdy, those are looking good. B. Nelson does a good job on stuff in general. For Toppy's I just got to a local cobbler, which for me is this place called San Marcos Boot Shop. They did a great job, despite being a smaller, not internet known shop. They actually told me that I should wear them once or twice before bringing them, because they have to sand them down anyways in order to get the glue to stick. So I might as well just naturally sand them down.

Put some shine on my new Plaza derbies (first black shell).  I solicited advice a few days ago about the suitability of wearing this shoe with a tux.  Thanks for your replies.  Because I'm not a big oxford fan, I went against the grain a bit and got what I liked.  As is usually the case, looking around at what other gents are wearing, I have nothing to worry about.  I put them on and kicked up my heels for a moment before I took the first step, and for just a brief moment, I felt like MM. @mdubs

And I noticed the color change on the tongue of my Leffot Dovers.  It's subtle, but you can clearly see the area that's been exposed to light is much browner than the original purple-y color.

Nicely done Alpina, your boots and bluchers look happy! Yeah, the eyestays definitely will cause an uneven color wearing... :-) Which makes for fun comparisons.

Awesome. They look even better on your feet than they did in your house.

Looking good Buda! I think that this particular makeup, has to have been the most popular design for customers in 2015... NST in 8 on Antique.

Gentlemen,

These have been slowly introduced here over the past few weeks, but I am happy to share with you more pictures of what I like to call the "Semi-Brogue Boot".

Made by TheShoeMart on the Plaza Last in both a dressy Black Shell Cordovan and its fun Color 8 Shell Cordovan on Antique Edge cousin.

Those old cigar captoes are incredibly cool. Good color.

@mdubs - I'm glad you were able to acquire a boot style you like. Well done.

You will have to share some top down pics, on your feet or not.

I have seen this "semi-brogue" boot style without the brogueing on the toe, which is excellent as well! Cheers.

Hey, thanks guys! As much as I like the Color 8's, the Black is just absurdly awesome. Very happy to happen, took over a year to get them...
