It's a little less than an hour from me. If it goes for fairly close to the start price there should be some money in it, there looks like some decent stuff in there, but a few orphans too.

I doubt it will be a competitive auction, these huge lots don't seem to be. That said, nothing in it looks to have a guaranteed 'resale' value (orphans etc.) so I think this would need to be for sport rather than as an investment.

Only slightly off-topic, but I'm onto my third bottle of this after-shave, which is an absolute bargain:

About to list an Amanda Christensen tie BNWT, but will leave it here first if anyone's interested:

The Zegna smells damn good. I approve of that link!

Here's what I'm using as my daily, I leave my Chanel Allure Sport for every now and then now.

I use it too but it's slightly cheaper here (after postage is factored in): http://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/262472141769

If anybody is around a 32/33 waist and likes pleated Polo chinos, I've got a few pairs coming up. A couple of Lewin double cuff shirts in 15.5 too.

Pleated chinos are boss.

They are nice chinos, and if they were vanity sized like modern Polo I'd be keeping them (they are a few years old), unfortunately they actually measure 32/33 so a little too small for me. 😞

I know what you mean. Buddah sent me some pleated chinos the other day, they are dated but they're damn awesome.
What are the length of yours?

Depending on colour and manufacture I might be interested too.

I was also wondering if we might talk here about some more local questions -- here are two I've been wondering about:

1. Has anyone seen the made in Italy marks and spencer range of jackets and suits? The jackets look quite modern (an unstructured linen triple patch for instance). If anyone has seen them in the flesh, this could be interesting. Assuming decent construction, m&s have been buying nice fabrics recently and I've been impressed, considering previous generations of 'inspired by Italy'.

2. Does anyone have a sense of quality hierarchy within the vaguely savile row / highstreet RTW brands? I mean the new William hunt, Richard James, Chester Barrie for John Lewis etc. They are clearly different from the old stuff but any observations welcome. All I have seen has been tk maxx quality, but would llike to be corrected.

The chinos are getting a wash & iron at the moment, I'll put some details up once that's done.

To the questions:

1. M&S made in Italy looks quite nice, as does the Timothy Everest range. I wouldn't touch them for resale, but for personal use they look good if you like the quality level - fabrics aren't bad, but the make is strictly mid range. Let me know if there is anything specific you want, I see those ranges all the time.

2. Chester Barrie ranges from good to very good (I have a stunning made in England jacket that I bought at deep discount from their outlet), Chester by Chester Barrie is ok, I wouldnt venture lower than that to the John Lewis range. William Hunt seems to be cheaper stuff trading on an old name but I've never tried it personally and Richard James is owned by the same people as Chester Barrie but a lower quality level.

In regards to William Hunt, it's not bad at all. Granted, it's not as good other Savile Row RTW stuff, but it's good shit.

I own a few items from them including shirts and jumpers. (two of which are made in Italy)

The shirts are fantastically made using high quality cotton. I'd pick one up at TK Maxx if you can, that's where I get my WH stuff from.
