Can cork footbed harden?

Good Evening Gents,

I have a question for yall, I bought a pair of 1st qual Allen Edmonds Shell MacNeil, and got to keep them for price of 2nds during the RDA sale due to some denting in the shell from sitting on the shelf in a store in Orlando.

The shoes have the old black shiny insole, so I guess the shoes are about 5 years old sitting on the shelf. After 5 wears the shoes still haven't worn in, and footbed is flat and has not formed to my feet. This has never been a issue, with any other shoes include multiple Shell shoes I have.

So is it possible for the resin and cork fixure to harden to the point it won't form my foot?
