So after 3 months im smitten, I want to spoil this person but im worried about it being awkward if i spend too much..
Do i restrain myself and keep it to couple small things? Books, records etc
Or spend a few hundred on expensive perfume and things?

Having a hard time with this one, cause i dont wanna F up

If you want to get her something, I would say something that's sentimental or an inside joke between you two. It shows you care enough to know her in such a short time instead of just letting the money talk. What you really should do as well is to get an experience for the both of you. Was in a similar situation and she surprised me with a night tour on Alcatraz that included the Ai WeiWei exhibit going on at the time. We both live in the area so Alcatraz was always a corny touristy thing that neither of us had gone to, but the whole thing turned out to be really interesting and unexpectedly cool.

Go the perfume, womans accessory route. Keep it in the hundred dollar range. She will want something she can show her friends but you can't go too expensive because if the relationship lasts you set a precedent for expensive gifts right out of the gate.

You can't fuck anything up by buying/giving a thoughtful gift. It could be expensive or cheap or somewhere in between. If for some reason value is a factor I would say you should be safe between $50-150, above that could be considered overkill for so new a relationship.

If she has a Pinterest it's super easy.

What's your income level like? If you are making good money it could be appropriate but if you're only making 50k a year its going to set a precedent that you will have to match or more likely top.

I can afford it, I just worry if I spend more than they do it'll be awkward for them or something...
Or seem try-hard

You are going to turn this into a nightmare by overthinking it. Either discuss it with her or buy something she has stated interest in that isn't a Rolex
