machine washable dress pants

Thread Starter

I started medical school a year and half ago after 10 years in commercial real estate development. My current (non-casual) wardrobe is almost entirely dry-clean only. In 6 months school transitions from the classroom to the hospital where the threat of disgustingly soiled cloths at the end of the day increases exponentially.

Does anyone have any recommendations for machine washable pants that look good and wear like nicer pants (i.e., not like your average khakis)? All I have been able to find are heavy cotton chino-like pants from big retailers (Brooks Brothers, etc.) and 1 pair of wool trousers from Jos A Bank, neither of which I am a fan of.

I realize that this is probably a lost cause, as the fabric necessary for what I'm looking for probably requires dry-cleaning, but I thought I'd ask people that know more about it than I do.

Thanks in advance.

If you want machine washable and still looking decent, check out Macy's for their run of the mill brands. Calvin Klein, Tommy, Lauren, Alfani, etc. Check the tags. Many are made from blends and are machine washable. They are decent looking slacks. Of course, you need to shop in the pant section, not suit separates.

Maybe this?

Or this?

Even this?

At these prices, if they get ruined, not a big deal.

Actually if you want to give Luxire a try, they have some cotton pants that are designed to be either office appropriate or resemble wool trousers.

You might give some of those a try, for example:
