New SF member and not sure where to find the answer you're looking for?  Have a quick question that doesn't belong in a current thread?  Welcome, you found the right place.

This is a weekly thread where new users can ask quick questions and get a solid answer.  If a thread already exists that would be more helpful, we will point you in the right direction.  The only stupid question is the one that isn't asked.....so ask away!

Need some advice on a possible outfit for the club/bars. A couple friends and I are going out for a friends 21st birthday in a few days, and I would like to look my best, but not go over the top. Typically when I go to bars/clubs I will wear dark jeans, a plain t-shirt or henley, and occassionally a button down shirt tucked in, without a tie.  But was wondering if an outfit similar to the picture would be acceptable.

*replace the tie with a slim black one, and get rid of the pin and chain.

Any thoughts/opinions are greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forum, Klay.  To be honest, I don't like that at all.  The vest, tie, and shoes with the rest of the outfit is just cheesy.  Throw a sweater over the shirt and change those shoes and it would be much better.

Welcome to the forum, Minh.  What kind of clothes do you need/want to buy?  Streetwear or suits and such?  I'm not sure what kind of advice to offer because I'm not really sure what you need.

Well, mostly street wear but classy suits advice are welcome also. Anything that can help me out of this disaster I'm wearing

so like if you're rebuilding your entire wardrobe maybe good to start with a pair of slim-straight dark blue jeans, a white polo shirt, some chukkas, brown belt. and then down the road maybe add more tops like a  navy polo or button shirt  or long sleeve tee shirt since its getting cold now and just slowly build your collection. tbh i pretty much started earlier this year and ended up throwing away all my old clothes from all these years and the main stuff i wear now is all new and fashion friendly smile.gif its kinda a nice experience though can get expensive! so try to find pieces that you like and that are comfortable enough that you will wear daily.

Thks man, much appreciate

Hey Murlsquirl, could I get your opinion? Do you prefer chukka or chelsea boots? I'm leaning towards chukka more atm simply because I've heard more about them and imo they do look a little nicer to me and they also have origins in UK even though I thought they were a country type boot, also I feel like the chelsea boots are more of a bold statement but the chukka will fit nicely with my clean and classic style.

Chukkas for sure. Two or three eyelet chukkas for me.

I'm 26 and have pretty much worn sneakers all my life and these new boots, they aren't "uncomfortable" but feel very different. sometimes they feel too big like clown shoes, other times they feel too small, i can't really tell what it is...also it feels weird having the high part against my leg and how the top of it is sharp like a dress shoe.

do they look alright to you?

i am a size 9 in every sneaker i have and size 9 fits me perfect, so i got these chukkas in a size 9 too, here's a pic of them side by side to my stan smiths

also i worry they make me look like a redneck...do they look ok?

thanks

They look fine to me.  If you can't tell if they're too big or small, maybe they just need to be broken in.
