Took in the waist of my pants and it feels tighter?

First time I ever took in my dress pants, from a 34 to 32. Now it feels a lot tighter in the crotch area when I lift up my leg. I think when the waist was taking in it cause the rise to shorten? Does this happen to all pants or did the tailor forge to alter another part of the pants to match it? I tried wearing another pair of pants and grabbing the waist with my hands, it did restrict my leg movement a bit. Looked inside of the seam and she took in the waist to about half way to the crotch so it looks like a V.

They can't take in the waist without taking in the seat of the pants. As you say, the seam allowance in the back becomes a v-shape.
