Paris under attack again - Page 16

I can't argue that the west has done a poor job of being inclusive with those people, it's clearly one of many issues.

I will, however, say that either community leaders, parents, society, the media, culture both historical and present day or thier collective peers have done an amazingly shitty job at reminding these guys what a huge opportunity luck had given them being born in those countries. Life is hard, we all know but it is alot easier there compared to Baghdad, Tehran or most other similar places. I'd wager these guys have done little with life not due to barriers and more because of themselves and that's a real shame.

A hero of the tragic events,

#JeSuisDiesel: Dogs around the world pay their own tribute to hero police canine killed in Paris siege (with a little help from their owners)
SWAT team dog Diesel, a seven-year old Belgian shepherd died during firefight with suspected Paris jihadis
She was sent into building to sniff out booby traps but was blown to pieces when woman detonated suicide vest
The hashtag #JeSuisChien began trending on Twitter as users posted pictures of pets paying tribute to police dog
Senior intelligence officials say Abdelhamid Abaaoud, 27, was killed in the raid on flat in Paris suburb of Saint-Denis

3 people dead so far, one was a woman who blew herself up. Seven explosions were heard.

EDIT:

Apparently the guys who did the raid were the GIGN which is the French equivelent to SWAT. Here is a video of them attacking terrorists who hijacked a plane in 1994.

Small correction : the teams doing raids in urban areas (like the St Denis one) are from the RAID force (which is part of the national police force). The GIGN is a separate organization which is part of the army (gendarmerie) and is usually best suited for non-urban operations.

In other news, Abaaoud was killed in that raid yesterday. As always, it's impossible to tell if that will result in less innocent deaths (Ops he will not organize or carry; deterrence for other potential djihadists) or if it will be fodder for martyrdom propaganda and help recruit more of them... I'm hoping the former

1.  Make me.

2.  It's "up", not "off".

3. Medwed was the first to go off-topic with a mention of the arrest warrant for Bibi.  So it's obvious that you don't really care about confining the thread to Paris, you're just a Bibi sycophant.

From my experience with work functions for charity, the turnout is 2x greater if it's an animal charity.

Don't take that post too seriously. The French should tear down the apartment building and erect a 30-foot statue of Diesel in its place.

The legitimate argument lies in the fact that there is antagonization on both sides. There are reasons that 2nd and 3rd generation Europeans are willing to commit acts of terrorism in their countries and it's not because they are mentally ill or anything. These are people who have never felt at home in their countries because they have been made to feel that they don't belong. That they're not French, they're not Belgian, they're not Europeans. It's not the only reason but it is a reason.

When you feel like you don't belong somewhere, you know what a better solution to blowing yourself up or shooting up your neighbors is?  Moving.

90% of scooters in Europe are stolen and driven by kamikaze youth, the last 10% are drunkards who have lost their car licenses.

They also pollute more than a VW diesel from the 90's.

Gordon Gecko, original Wall Street, said something to the effect of the thing about WASPs is they love animals but hate people. I would expand that to wealthy Americans in general.
