18 dead so far, multiple shooters in different locations. They just said on the CNN feed this "may be a terrorist event."

There's also a hostage situation at a night club.

Bataclan. Eagles of Death Metal just played there, possibly among the hostages. Also, 26-30 dead is the new count.

There was a match between Germany and France at Stadt de France and people aren't being allowed to leave.

The live feed just put the hostage count at 100 and dead at 35.

Why would they keep people inside the stadium? Do they think they can trap the attackers inside with the citizens? Even if they could it seems like it would create another hostage situation, and even if they did trap the attackers inside, knowing they are ok with suicide, how would that be advantageous?

In the future, if they set bombs off outside a building and anticipate them trapping everyone inside, that would be a perfect opportunity to have a shooting spree on the inside.

Sadly I have some reason for training in this area...you keep folks in a "hardened" location as the bombs are usually not structural but rather anti-personnel and they tend to be planted where the bomber expects folks to get evacuated to outside the perimeter of the building.

From what I understand the first shooting and grenades are in the same area, so I assume its for security reasons and not to have 40k people roaming around.

I remember David "Koresh" keeping everyone, including those poor kids, in the tunnel back in 1995.
