Yesterday, I went to an Allen Edmonds store to try on some black Swims galoshes. I wear a 10.5 in Allen Edmonds which according to Swims size charts is borderline between a size L and XL, so I tried on both the L and XL sized galoshes. The L galoshes were very tight and took some time wiggling around the shoe to put on. Also, they were a tad bit too small in terms of length (like 1/10 of an inch), so when I put them on my shoes, theres a tiny tiny gap of air between the back on my heel and the back heel of the galoshes. For the XL galoshes, I had no trouble putting them on as they were very spacious and simply slipped on to my shoe. Unfortunately I didn't actually get up and walk around to see if theu'd be too loose. The sales rep told me that the L (smaller of the two) was a better fit because the XL was too easy to put on. I wasn't sure if his rationale was accurate, so I was goping that I could gain some wisdom from you fellow styleforumers.
