Tweed suit for a costume

Thread Starter

Hi everyone,

I am going to a Downton Abbey themed party for New Years this year and am trying to find a brown tweed suit. I have looked through eBay for one in size 46 and 48 but I can't seem to find anything good in that size. I've also been looking in thrift stores but sadly my location doesn't have a large selection of suits...

My budget is ideally <$200. I'm not looking for anything very high-end.

Does anyone have any recommendations for where I can find something like this?

Thanks!

Unless you get very lucky, the odds of finding an historically accurate tweed suit on Ebay in your size for less than $200 are slim.  It's possible, of course, just not likely.

If you live is a large city a better bet would be a theater costume rental company.

Good luck.

Cheers,

Ac

Check out this website from a vendor in Hamburg, Germany.
They offer second hand traditional Biritish clothing. It's not
exactly "period-correct", but it's close, as "country wear"
hasn't changed much since Edwarian times.
