Hey everyone im a dude with no sense of style whatsoever and i am beginning to realize that i look more or less like my father or grandfather 99.9% of the time. i am looking for advice on style, trends that are trending, and how to properly wear them. any and all discussion can be helpful. I also want to impress the woman in my life that i dont have to look like an old man every time i go out with her. Sometimes i think she is too embarrassed to confront me about it. Her face says it all and i need Fashion help. Hence my name on this site. FASHION BLOB!!

Welcome to the forum, blob. The best thing you can do is browse the forum for a while. Check out the Classic Menswear and Streetwear & Denim WAYWRN threads for starters. From there, get a sense of the brands you like and look into them more on the forum....many will have Official Affiliate Threads or dedicated threads of their own. Reasearch for a bit before you start to purchase...you'll save yourself from many returns or wasted money. Best of luck.

I have a new suit which I believed to be charcoal brown in colour (the fabric is charcoal with some brown blended in). The thing is, the suit sometimes looks like its totally charcoal in colour and some other time it looks dark brown. I'm thinking about getting a pair of black shoes but I'm kinda worried the sometimes brown-ness of the suit makes it not suitable with black. So what shoe colour do you think I should be getting? Is it safe with black? or maybe dark brown? A little lighter brown maybe?

Thank you in advance.

Pictures would help, but I love my burnished walnut and dark chili with charcoal. The walnut may be too much a contrast depending on darkness of charcoal. Another option is the bourbon polished with dark brown paste that changes the normal burnout to more of a brandy color.

Welcome to the forum, Sheikh.  I'd like to see pictures as well, but you should be fine with black.  Brown suits with black shoes is actually a great look.

Thank you. Here's a pic the colour of the photo is not corrected but you can still see the charcoal and brown somewhat 'coexist'.
Also, I'm sorry for needlessly starting a new thread when I should've just write a reply here.

No need to apologize about the thread.  You can wear black or dark brown with those.  I would not wear light brown.

Hi, I'm new to the site/forum. Thanks for putting this site together. I'm totally oblivious when it comes to pinpointing high-quality, stylish clothing and/or shoes. In the past year, I've graduated to buying Charles Tyrwhitt shirts and a. testoni shoes. My work is business casual, so I'm trying to build a wardrobe without killing the bank account. Am I on the right track? How do I know what kind of construction was used on my a. testoni shoes?

Thanks!

Welcome to the forum, MBA.  I'm pretty sure Testoni and blake rapid and in my opinion, overpriced an not very attractive.  Take a look at Carmina...I think you'll like them http://www.styleforum.net/t/241469/carmina-shoes-official-thread-reviews-advice-sizing-etc

Where do I post if I want some help identifying an item of clothing?

Found a jacket I really want but can't figure out who it is by.
