That seems like a decent activity to me. It's a way to get kids to think as if they were in that situation. It's no different than assigning something like a diary entry from the perspective of a soldier.

I always laugh when people complain about their privacy being violated when they're posting on a website where information is made easily publicly available.

Another winner is when these same people seem to have zero problem using "Log-In with Facebook" promps on random third party smartphone apps. Don't just give up your own privacy in the name of "convenance" but grandma's and your old high school sweetheart while you are at it.
