Styleforum and A&H present "The Proper Kit" Trunk show in NYC, Nov 7 2015 - Page 8

For those of you who don't know about Yellow Hook, let me include a bit about our brand from one of our press release leading up to the show:

Yellow Hook is comprised of just my wife and I, and we search high and low to find exquisite fabrics (from tweed, and cashmere to some of the most beautiful silks) you won't see anywhere else to craft our ties entirely by hand from. We have also worked hard assembling a team of expert craftspersons who painstakingly craft each and every one of our ties by hand, all right here in the United States in the classic Neapolitan style. Our ties are very lightly structured and untipped and we like to let the cloths we use speak for themselves, much like a Neapolitan Sport Coat does the same. We're really excited to debut a slew of new ties we're holding back for The Proper Kit Trunk Show, and to get to see old friends and make new ones next month. We're also huge bourbon heads, and Courtney and I just recently purchased our second barrel of Four Roses Barrel Strength Bourbon this August in Cox Creek, Kentucky, and while we're not sure if that will be bottled in time, but we'll definitely have some of the first barrel on hand for sure to share, so be sure to stop by and say hi and have a pour.

You can check out what we're up to in our affiliate thread here:

@YellowHookTies Is there a place with both a decent selection of wines and spirits near the event space?

@NewYorkIslander Awesome!  Look forward to meeting you!  We moved down here to Richmond 5 years ago and have absolutely loved it!

Hi there-Tim de Rosen from Bianca Mosca. Delighted to introduce ourselves here on SF. We're an historic brand that's been relaunched after a near 70-year hiatus.

Coinciding with our relaunch, we are making available an online made-to-order (MTO) service for wallets, cardholders, pouches and bracelets made from prime Louisiana alligator leather.

Our new website allows you to customize your order online and provides a multitude of choices including selecting the color of alligator skin, stitching and linings.

Each product is made entirely by hand in our French workshops including the use of traditional saddle stitching. Each piece takes from 5 to 10 hours of labor to create.

You can choose from 14 colors for the alligator skins in both matte and shiny finishes that range from Matte Beige to Shiny Emerald Green to Shiny Electric Blue. There is also a large number of options from which to select the stitching color, including Sky Blue and Vermilion Orange, and many other color choices for the “Mysore” goatskin linings as well.

I'll be posting more product pics over the next few weeks to give you a flavor of our work. We will also be introducing a few new products which I hope you'll find interesting.

If there's anything you'd like to know about us or have any suggestions we're all ears!

Really looking forward to meeting you at the show.

Astor Wines and Spirits is the best in the city. If you'd like to go outside the city, I'd be happy to get and schlep with me. I find the stuff they have in the bigger box stores in NJ is much more expansive and much less EXPENSIVE than what they have at Astor.

I prefer Warehouse:

(Both deliver which makes it very easy. And they are walking distance from each other if one wants to check stock.)

I think warehouse wine & spirits has really good prices for single malt scotch. I think Astor is better for wines but I think the scotch prices might be similar.

For simplicity's sake, I'll just go with Astor.  With twi food vendors, a rental company for rolling racks, chairs, tables, etc... the venue company and moving their furniture around, and two floors to manage, not to mention that @Synthese and I will parachute in at the last minute, I think that the simpler things are, the less likely they are to become completely messed up.

Oh, right, and we will be entrusting polaroid cameras to specific members.  You guys can keep the polaroids as souvenirs and are highly encouraged to post those pictures of yourselves doing the Asian girl V sign thing on your tumblrs and instagrams and whatever kids these days do.
