I think you just want them for nostalgia's sake. It's like that song that you kinda liked that they played a million times on the radio that you haven't heard in years and then you hear it again and then like all of a sudden.

Um... no. The Vic's are badass. I'm really hoping they bring back the low-top too.

Those things KILL Chucks.

Disagreed. Not saying the Vics aren't nice; they are, in a old school sci-fi, Tron sort of way.

SFxAirwalk Vics sound like da bomb. Something like the camo desert boots that Slim posted pics above but in Sand, Brown, Navy, or Black would be perfect.

I'm telling you right now, the low-tops were perfect. They were the perfect balance between All-Stars and Vans slip ons. Chucks, are light, but they have no support, and the soles are kind of weak. The Vans have a great, grippy sole, but are a slip on, and a little wide throughout the body. The low top Vic had the same general sleekness and light weight as the Chucks, but also had a grippy sole and a comfortable footbed. It may very well have been the ultimate low-top sneaker. I can't find a damn picture of them anywhere!

Yep, they're made to go to hell and back.

Back when I skated, I used to go through pair after pair of either Vans or All-Stars. I MAY have had a pair of Visions when I was younger....can't remember. I remember the first Caballero's from Vans....and the original Bones Brigade.....

I was somewhere the other day and noticed some modern skate shoes...

they are SO ugly, they totally look like cartoon shoes or something. I don't know how skate shoes evolved to be what they are today but they're TERRIBLE.

^The beginning of the end was when skate companies started using cup soles. But there were still a few good years. Two shoes I'd like to see back--the vans salman agah with the vulcanized soles and the airwalk 86... Do it, airwalk!

skaters needed more durable shoes as it became more and more mainstream, and shoes like vans and airwalks were getting torn up left and right. now, similar to how basketball shoes aren't nearly as aesthetically pleasing as they were in the 80s, it seems function is taking precedent over form, which is why many skate shoes look like miniature lifeboats.
