Driving Gloves for Regular use?

Regular lined winter gloves seem to be too bulky for a regular socal winter and thin wool/cotton gloves are too slippery and are not waterproof. I was thinking about leather driving gloves for regular winter use. something like this: http://www.leatherglovesonline.com/pages2/md1a-d22.htm or this: http://www.onlygloves.com/driving-gl...e.cfm#navbar=a

im not sure, thats why im asking you guys: can leather driving gloves be substituted for lined winter gloves or wool/cotton gloves?

Driving gloves are fine option. They are youthful and romantic in a way, but I would go with something truly classic. Also, it helps if you have a convertible.

Is there any reason for anyone to wear driving gloves (while driving) unless they own a convertible?

Well I know older Korean women who drive with gloves.

Misread topic as drinking gloves, and was really jazzed up to learn more about what leather i should wear when handling liquids. I think regular driving gloves would look really fly when tossing back a martini, in a sort of Bond villain style.

You obviously have never driven a classic car at night with the windows down because your ac doesn't work.

Or

driving shoes with no car
basketball sneakers and not playing
bomber jackets and no plane
cowboys boots and not a rancher or horse rider
messenger bag and no messages to deliver
sun glasses and no sunlight

the list can go on and on

Why do you need a convertible to wear driving gloves?
