This has definitely been a recurring question of late. I'm going to be producing a small batch of 8 x 147cm ties in a few Macclesfield silk print to begin with. Will follow up in s few other fabrics if they prove to be popular.

A preview of some new prints that will be available in the next 2-3 weeks. Some in 8cm widths.

They all look great. Hopefully we'll be able to snap some of those in 8 cm:)

A few new styles have just arrived. These four designs are made in Mogador, a 50/50 blend of silk and cotton. They would appear pure silk to the casual observer, but the cotton lends a lovely dryness to the finish, with a very matte appearance (somewhat similar to an Irish Poplin).

The fabric has been woven especially for me here in the UK, so hopefully you wont find these anywhere else.

I'm going to be commissioning another run of this fabric quite soon. I'm really interested in hearing your thoughts on preferred colourways. There are also three options below for stripe width.  The brown/navy & burgundy/navy are large block stripes, the green/navy is a medium and the brown/sky blue is the narrowest. Let me know what you think guys.

Wearing this lovely tie today over a new yellow shirt. I love the pattern of this tie, but, for the life of me, I can't tie a decent knot with it. #firstworldproblems

And you did assist in choosing the colourways of the fabric, so credit to you

Mogador tie and a handrolled Macclesfield silk square.

Those mogadors look amazing and really useful!

I have been going through my tie collection for the 10 ties and 5 jackets thread. Here are a few start of points for future designs. These are my most used ties and they are not in the super safe zone.

I am a big fan of wool/silk mixes. For PS it's the best. I have one tie from D#%&es - a solid navy herringbone design. Has just a slight glow from the silk. I use it all year round. 50/50 mix with patterns would be a hit IMHO.

Please comment on

Houndstooth in wool. Quite large scale. This one is blue/lightgrey/brown which makes it easy to pair. One of my most used ties.

Green wool

Donegalish wool. Rough hand. The flecks makes it easy to pair.

POW Cashmere with an overcheck. The overcheck is discrete enough for the tie to look solid when paired with other cloth that doesn't enhance it and when paired it gives the tie a glow and extra interest.

Two tone cashmere. Navy blue and wine. Very useful and not just a plain one color tie.

Same maker as the orange tie above. More flecks in other colors would make it more interesting.

50/50 wool silk. Not the best photos but I hope the slight sheen shows. Maybe do this in a two tone like the cashmere tie above.
