Does anyone have an AA-style wholesale source for this stuff? I want a henley but $45 seems like a lot, sight unseen.

I have two alternative apparel tops right now. One is the burnout tee, which is probably my favorite tee shirt and the other is a v-neck thin hoody/shirt that has a really wierd cut at the bottom but I wear anyway under other shirts.

There is a boutique here that sells Alternative Apparel at around 60% off retail prices - they have probably 7-10 of their guys shirts, including the henleys and burnout. I would be willing to proxy shop for a small commission ($5) + cost & shipping. PM if anyone is interested in prices or placing an order

Do they have anything in common with American Apparel, you know, Made in USA, company policy toward employees, etc?

Just received some henleys, a thermal, and the vintage biker shirt.

Some thoughts:

The quality seems nice, definetely better than American. The Alternative thermal for instance seems a bit thicker in comparison to the American Apparel version. Also,I ordered a medium and seems to have a good fit whereas the American version in medium is too long and a small is too tight. However, I haven't washed any of this stuff yet so I will have to follow up on that.

To give American credit though, their color selection is way better and I wish Alternative would have more colors, it seems their thermals and henleys are pretty much limited to earth tones.

Also, these actually aren't made in America as a previous poster stated. Most of the tags I have say made in Peru and I have one made in the Dominican Republic.

I found a code for 20% off on retail me not if you want to try out some stuff of theirs. It is: CPC171
