Neckties: A Discussion Thread - Page 59

Hi. I'm kinda new to fashion and was wondering how to factor in fabric, density, etc. into buying and using a tie.

Just updated the prior post with this pics used for similar ties with that exact fabrics:

Have to agree. I have a couple silk neats which are lovely, tie a nice double four in hand and get a great dimple. However, a couple wool ties have not been great and nor was a silk grenadine I bought.

Yes, thanks DT. I was there a couple of weeks ago and web-store does have the range

Please post if you have ties in both fabrics, and note maker too.

Three of mine from the 10/20 SS thread.   I’m sure there are others to be found there; q.v..

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Are you finding pilling on the Chipp matka?

Never quite thought of it in those terms since it was fuzzy right out of the box, which I knew it was going to be when I bought it (and not uncommon for matka as I understand it).  I've worn it perhaps half a dozen times and I can't honestly say it's gotten fuzzier.   It's got an almost cotton-like hand.

Cheers,
