I just bought a confetti tie AMA.

I have this tie coming in from ET:

I'm looking forward to it; I don't think it's exactly a neat (did we ever arrive on a "conclusion" of whether dotted ties were neats?); it feels a bit more casual than the typical neat. Anyway, as much as I've never been bothered in wearing neats with odd jackets (though not particularly country odd jackets), I suspect that this might work better than, say,

I agree that we need more brown ties in this world. However, I'm in favour of some new directions in fabric choice.

1. Slubby fabrics such as raw silk, and naturally variegated tonal palettes such as those found in donegal tweed, are all hot tickets on SF. With this in mind, here's a practical and hard-wearing choice for a new direction in tie materials:

2. This one is a perfect wake-up call for the New Direction in tie fashions. Nice aroma too:

3. Leather ties are very, very late 70s. Definitely time for a revival - maybe wheel out Duran Duran to shoot a launch clip?

LOL, I remember wearing a lime yellow leather skinny tie in high school...

This seems hilariously accurate.

I predict burgundy to be the backlash against brown. It cannot be green; green's rise parallel's that of brown.

But I think brown has been popular for a good while and will continue to be so. On the internet at least. Not in real life. It's all blues (not navy) and reds (not burgundy) there.

I think this is only true for the US.

I've never quite gotten on board with cotton ties. I have a couple and although I like them initially they just seem to look a little used and abused after about 10 or so wears.

On a side note the exchange rate is really putting a dent in my purchasing power 😟. Looking forward to see what @Henry Carter has in store for us shortly.

Should be lots of new stuff here in about 3 weeks. Linen/silks, shantung blended with reg silk that's not quite as slubby, block stripe silks and some new and re-stock grenadines. Should have all been here by now but the august shutdown in Italy kills us every year.

Pure cotton ties.... no. Mogador is dank tho

Shantung has trended, peaked, and now backlashed. So it's slated for a comeback?

No, far too soon. (I hope)

So, what about the timeless classics? I used to buy them from a brand named Uno Corno, but it seems they've gone out of business. Anybody got any tips?
