Artisanal Clothing and accessories discussion (MA+, CCP, Layer-0, Paul Harnden, Taichi Murakami, Boris Bidjan Saberi, etc...) - Page 132

stitched at the neck and where the zipper attaches. special ordered from Hide-M. horse leather is thick AF, can imagine it would be quite uncomfortable without the lining.

So it's not in sections just like the leather? I have the 1.44 horse without lining. It's not bad really.

it's in sections too, same pattern as the jacket just slightly elongated in the arms and body. not sure what the leather type is, just states horse on the tags. it's heavy though, as heavy as my FW14 Rick calf stooges.

1.44 is heavy but that's what he normally uses. SZ had a special edition for their 10th anniv. 1.88 mm. You can see the collar stays up when unzipped.

No, LEB leather is fine unlined.
Great purchase!

It's a cool looking jacket but I saw so many odd fit pics of it that I doubt is go for it.

This is true, however, the SZ pic is spot on :thumbs-up:.

yeah they can end up looking fine in pics, but there's often a disconnect between what looks good irl, and what looks good in a posed photo.

whereas i've always found LEB leathers to photograph pretty ok, but feel / look horrible irl, i've also experienced the opposite very often [photograph awful, fit / look great irl] which can be even more frustrating for someone behind the camera heheh.

It's the shoulders, man.  Anything with a rounded shoulder, unless you have a model who looks like a model, (relatively broad, non-sloping shoulders), it can look great irl and crap in a picture.  Conversely. you give something defined shoulders, which that LEB leather has, and it's relatively easy to get a good picture.

This is also the same reason that ToJ jackets looked good on a variety of body types, especially on pictures online - a tailored shoulder (instead of the lapped shoulder that most traditional leather jackets have) make for a great shot.

I'll need to wear mine when I finally get around to visiting you in Victoria. :slayer:

I've never handled them in person, so this has been the main worry that's kept me from buying a LEB jacket, no matter how cool they look on the hanger.

Thanks @curiouscharles for confirming that.

That ma+ bike jacket that nicely bought is the grail for me, but I'm not going to spend the money on it new.
