I've been dealing with a "refund" issue with Zam for almost 6 months now. Since he apparently doesn't offer an actual refund and forces you into store credit (which I don't see how that's legally possible), I've had him and/or his team drag their feet on issuing me an exchange. Lots of empty promises of my exchange being processed and shipped. All I want is my money back and to be done with it.

I never had any problems when ordering full priced items back in the day. I love all my Zam pants, but this lack of respect for a customer has left me bitter and completely unsatisfied

Holy shit, and I thought I am the only unlucky one here. Can you open a paypal dispute? So far this is the only believable way to get your money back I think.

Sleeves and back length (from base of collar to hem) both 28"
Shoulders: 17"

Sad to say, but after waiting for 3 weeks for any kind of reply via email or whatsapp, I'm gonna put this out in public that I'd recommend staying away from THE OFFICE GALLERY (Tassos, Demetra) at this point–even though people have had good transactions as have I previously. In the middle of one of these exceptional situations and seems they're just going to ride into the sunset with my deposits without any replies whatever.

I don't care to go into specifics as this point as I'm forced to use these public channels to just deign a response for them...

oh and trust me, they monitor them.

i made a tiny complaint once on SZ about how i was always getting emails from The Office [despite never having emailed them, bought anything from them, or even known who the fuck they were].

then years later when i actually wanted to buy a CCP jacket for work, they wouldn't answer any of my emails - because i guess i was on their shit list.

so, spamming = ok, but complaining about spam = not ok.

[nevermind the fact that signing someone up for your email list without direct permission is highly illegal in Canada and you can face seven figure fines for being caught doing so...]

Just wanted to share that I bought a scarf from zam and didn't like the fabric in person so I emailed him and he sent a different one before the original even reached him, he also covered the shipping and price difference. I s'pose this may be a unique situation but I've not really bought much else from him so it's not like I'm a special customer.

Anyway good luck to all I hope things work out for the best and use credit cards even for gift payments you just have a small fee to cover yourself but in the end it's likely worth it

Starting to sound of somewhat or pretty sneaky/obnoxious policies. Will try contacting them, as been PMing with various members here after my initial message that they seem to have a long history of doing this or similar things.

Just to reiterate a bit, it seems that with in stock items most transactions are just fine and dandy but when it comes to 'Special Orders' and deposits with long wait times all bets are off. Luckily am in the EU so there are some online mechanics in place such as the dispute tool etc. So those within the EU who might have similar experiences going on please check http://europa.eu/youreurope/citizens/consumers/consumers-dispute-resolution/out-of-court-procedures/index_en.htm

Not sure how their draconian policies hold up when taken up with official instances... Good luck to all!

Places I have had beyond 100% customer experience lately:
Hide-M
Lift
Liberte (Kobe)
Gullam
Idol Brooklyn
Abasi + Rosborough (brand store)
Suspenion Point

There's some great, great places to shop. Not even worth it for me to think about buying something from a store or brand that might not deliver when there are so many good guys to support

Can we all agree Darklands is the worst

I am currently in correspondence with Darklands in regards to Geoffrey B Small's latest Fall delivery. I can agree that the communication is limited, but I'm chalking that down to a Communication barrier. The response is very sparse and to the point. I reserve judgment. I have faith in them because for Geoffrey to have them as one of his select retailers, means something special.

I recently purchased the exceptionally beautiful angora, cashmere, and Wool trousers (ETP01). Couldn't be more happier. If anything I'm happy they stock such collections

Do I dare try to shorten the sleeve on an MA+ biker?? Spiral zipped sleeves gonna be hell even for the pros I've used before...

if your tailor thinks they can do it, why not?

got rid of my linen zipped sleeve biker precisely because the sleeves rendered it useless, so if it would make the jacket wearable, i'd totally go for it.

Yeah, it's gonna be rough, because they can't take it in from the shoulder since the entire sleeve is spiraled - would completely throw off the design from the back. The sleeve seam needs to match up. MAYBE they can rotate it when the re-attach? It would move the placement of the zipper, but whatever. But a sleeve isn't a tube, I feel like this isn't going to work.

There's way too much handstitching for them to move the zipper itself up the sleeves, I couldn't ask them to replicate this work. One option might be to just chop and use a shorter zipper, maybe right below the metal cross? Feel like that would screw up the jacket too much, though.

Anyways, I'll talk to tailor. Who likes this long-sleeves business? haha

yeah it's a freakishly tough job.

personally i'd had enough of my long zipped sleeves almost tearing everything else i own, so i just moved on.

shame as it's such a great design.

yeah i've made quite a few transactions, all of them on deep sale, and my experience has been as you describe. Whenever there was a hurdle (item no longer in stock for example), they more than made it up for me. They are sometimes slow to respond, but that s really the only complaint i would make.
