It is my understanding that Darklands bought a huge portion of the Deepti collection (maybe all of it???) so that would be the best place to see it. I'm not sure if it's been delivered yet, but he told me they were expecting it mid-August...

The collection is already in some stores. The crash design is not just on the seam; but on the denim fly also.

INK / atelier seem to already have it.

I've seen the photos; I'm just not sure I buy the crash design just for the sake of new design philosophy. So was wondering if there's something more to it that's lost in the photos?

I wasn't a fan of the crash denim. It's interesting design, and I'd totally dig it if my name was Zorro, but it's a bit too obnoxious worn

would be nice to see pics of the collection but alas Deepti gonna stay mysterious and not offer items online... what year is it? Yes i know i can email retailers and see some pics but that still sucks i just want to be able to go to a site and see what the offering is.

Wow, to me those zig zag jeans look pretty disastrous. The leather not as much but still a bit desperate for attention.

Chain mail sweaters? Stainless steel skirts? Zig zag zippers.

Makes me miss MMM and all the stuff I never bought.

Yikes.

Thanks. With the little info I have on the collection, all I can say is it's uninspiring. Is this what the entire collection is all about, the crash (zigzag) pattern? Or is there some sort of complex idea that Deepti has for this collection? I'm just thinking of my initial reaction to LEB's work when it first came out. I thought "just some random patterns" which wasn't after reading his idea and the process of his work. So I'm just trying to know if there's more to this zigzag theme before I dismiss this collection entirely.

Supposedly inspired by the Cronenberg film Crash, if that is any help.

Seriously? Granted I haven't seen that film and just read the summary of what it is about, I don't get that feeling that the inspiration from the film is properly conveyed on this collection... or what the film is supposed to be about. I'll see if I can find the film on Netflix. Then if I ever find the time, I'll check her stuff in person along with a few others in NYC.

I am not. At least, Faust said he talked to her in person and this is what she said. BSR also thought of the film independently when checking out the showroom in person, though he was just speculating.
