Migrants, Immigrants, Refugees, and Aliens in Euro-Zone - Page 130

Any culture that doesn't let their food become Americanized is good with me.

I don't think I've ever seen an authentic Scandinavian restaurant in the US. Does such a thing exist? Maybe in the Midwest.

Doh. Ikea cafeteria.

Or maybe famous places like Aquavit?

Hey, there's one in DC! Literally, one. They got co-opted into serving Slavic food too, miscegenating bastards.

Plus there's Ikea.

Seems to me smorgasbords are everywhere...

The Creole and Cajun cultures of Southern Louisiana have been hanging in there pretty well for a long time .

There are more people that speak Spanish in Louisiana than French.

And, yes, I know there were a fair number of Spanish settlers in Louisiana. But the people speaking it now are Mexicans.

Yup. It's literally the only thing that comes up if you put "Scandinavian restaurant" into Google maps for the DC area.

People just have to pickle their own herring at home.

Oh, I'd like to add one more thing to the food and cursing: holidays.

So whether we let in 50 immigrants a year or 5 million, the end result is the same. You are telling people to read a history book while implying that immigration, if not restrained and scrutinized, has no negative consequences?

I don't doubt it - he is more authoritarian than conservative and arguably more liberal than conservative.

I'm married to one of those "darkies," so no, that's not my conclusion. My conclusion is that assimilation cannot happen if immigration does not have constraint and selectivity applied to it. If immigration is done at a pace that does not provide proper time for immigrants to assimilate, the need to assimilate decreases each year.

Then I'm sure all of them supported sealing the southern border and enforcing visa laws in support of the government's constitutional duty to protect us from invasion, right? 15 or 20 million people illegally flooding your country is an invasion by any measure.

Life is a precious gift from God. We must cherish and defend it. Without life, there is no liberty; without life, there is no pursuit of happiness.
Marriage is a sacrament between one man and one woman, it has strengthened societies for millennia, and we must uphold the truth of marriage.
Extreme leftists — activist judges, the Obama Administration, and academic elites — are trying to extinguish these most fundamental, God-given rights.
Ted Cruz will preserve life, marriage, and the family, and he has the record to prove it. If Ted is elected president, he will instruct his Attorney General to investigate Planned Parenthood on day one. And rather than enacting policies that tear down these pillars of our society, he will work to restore a culture of life, marriage, and family.

Ted Cruz, Knight Templar.

Oh, and I'm an extreme leftist now? I fucking love this guy.

As a general observation, I don't have any great quarrel with what you're saying in 1.

2. Nice non sequitur. Never discussed that issue with most of them, but that can you point me to the evidence there's an "American Tradition" of sealing the southern border? Saying we'd like immigrants to adopt American traditions like voting, NASCAR, and Nickelback is one thing. Using "American Traditions" as code for "hold the same political beliefs as me" is something else. There are plenty of folks who can trace their lineage back to Jamestown or the Mayflower or whatever that don't "support[] sealing the southern border".

My long-standing offer to carpool to the weekly organizing meeting/drum circle remains open.
