I knew there was a reason I've never watched that show.

No, it's not a legal restriction - it's a consequence. Which is the first of 18 or so obviously incorrect statements in your post.

You're wrong about the law on employers. Lot of employers have the absolute right to fire people for just about anything they want. And firing someone for speech is not "prosecution". Buy a dictionary.

You must be a serious safety net entitlement child to expect the law to protect you from ever having to face consequences for your choices.

So how 'bout if, purely hypothetically speaking here, the online mob that gets you fired is financed, trained, and organized by the government. Would that be a government infringement of free speech?

Geez that's a complex conspiracy. Hypothetically if you could prove that the people were funded by the government (which de facto makes them government workers you are protected from) it would be a first amendment violation. You probably wouldn't get your job back but you would have grounds to sue the government.

Is this thread now about welfare recipients? Or is it about college students?

I'm thinking of like the Hitler youth here. You know, government-funded, closely aligned with one political party, indoctrinates kids and then turns them loose to terrorize the population, so the party and the government can deny responsibility for what they do. And you'd compare them to American college students in 2015? C'mon. That's offensive.

Lol, you pretty much described every Western democracy, right there.

Idk mate, not so sure about that. Feminists can get people fired for disagreeing with them. T

tldr; Nobel prize winner fired(resigned) for his comment that he would prefer the labs to be single sex.

Whether the guy is an idiot ot not is not important here, but firing people over their views is an infringement on free speech. Is like firing someone for believing gay marriage should be legal/political views(insert any topic).

Not going to argue here, just saying that with changing public reception of things, you gotta think twice about saying certain things all of a sudden. There was a meme going around on Facebook lately that basically went like "that moment when you want to make a joke at dinner, but can't, because it's 2015 and everybody will be super offended".

Easily solved: don't be friends with such weak-minded fools.

Great video about the rising threat of Islam and why the stupidity of political correctness is costing lives, presented by a rare beast - a female muslim daring to speak the truth about her own religion.

That is good news but just a drop in the ocean, unfortunately.
