But no, there won't be a goretex option for the MA1.

Ok, will it be classic fit like the wool ma1 or more of a slim fit?

The suiting wool MA1 was quite slim. Far from a "classic fit."

The new MA1 will have a slim/standard look. Nothing too slim though - there's always MTM for those that want something very slim.

The suiting wool fit quite slim, but it was just very padded, giving it the 'classic' look silhouette.

@ Charlie (i havent ordered yet)

I need to re-measure myself as I messed up some readings…so Im going to get my tailor to help me.

1. As I am planning to wear the jacket with a tshirt at the very least, or at most with a tshirt and a shirt over it, I thought it might make good sense to dress up that way when I go for measurements….does this make sense or must my measurements be taken against bare skin?

2. Also, would like to understand what is the variance between the measurement given and the finished product…eg. if the shoulder measurement provided is 17.6 inches, will the finished product be exactly that…what sort of variance can one expect and do you reckon it could be more or less?

Cheers

You could've just sent them an email...

But in my experience, #1 doesn't matter. Maybe if you were buying a latex body suit, but not here.
#2 also doesn't matter. Imagine attempting to cut and sew anything within .1 of an inch, and then trusting the consumer to accurately measure it.... Variance exists, but you'll always get something in the ballpark of what you wanted. Try to conceptualize the difference between 17.6 and 17.4 or 17.9 inches... Doesn't really matter on a freaking leather jacket lol.

Best thing you can ever do in this process: ID a jacket that fits you perfectly, take measurements from that and talk to Charly about them.

Ok cool...this will be my first leather jacket, so as of now, nothing exists to measure against...and im uneasy about measuring a windbreaker or suit jacket.

Thank you.

FIT PIC CONTEST

We're deciding to hold a small fit picture contest for the next week.

Submissions for the gallery must be entered by 3/25. You can post them here.

Winner will be chosen by me, Daniel, and Sally. Best fit picture will receive $100 credit towards any Falcon Garments item.

Please include the following with submissions: (username / jacket model / hide / color)

A couple tips..
  • Outdoors or indoor with good lighting will be best
  • Try to have someone else take your photo if at all possible (or set up a timer)

Let me know if you have any questions.

We like to keep the zipper pulls option limited to those three. Any more and it would make for a bigger headache.
