Doubt it. I'd either go with the "cheap" all-clad stuff or if i was going to spend more, solid copper with a clad ss cooking surface. then i would marry an OCD woman to keep them polished.

I've never even seen the stuff but I can't imagine it is.

I'd get this http://www.dvorsons.com/Sitram/SitramCookware.htm

It's not cheap, but it's less expensive than All-Clad and performs better in many regards. A very thick copper disk in the bottom, it will heat up very quickly.

I have the Sirocco line; when purchasing pans at this price, you will likely have them for life so asking whether it is worth it or not in the short term of $100 is immaterial. Most of my kitchen gear is above my actual skill level but I enjoy it anyway.

You can take your immaterial and shove it up your pooper. But seriously, I realize that is a part of the appeal - the question was really referencing the performance of the pans. I like the look of both the Atlantis and the Sirocco - the Sirocco more closely matches our current All-Clad set. Read about the sitram - looks good.

Your SO will drop $2k+ on a PURSE which has a lifespan of maybe 3 or 5 years, depending on the fashion, and here you are debating over a few bucks on pans that are useful every day for the rest of your life.

I have no retort. Damn you.

We own Copper Core pots and pans. Bought them 7 or 8 years ago.

The "hand wash" care instructions are dumb and unnecessary. We've been putting them in the dishwasher for years with no ill effects.

They are pots and pans, not jewelry.

As for cooking, they work really really well. Sturdy, excellent heat distribution, good design. All in all, a terrific investment. The only drawback is that there are no non-stick options (which I like for cooking eggs) but otherwise, the copper core set is terrific. (also, the tiny saucier pan was too small to sit on our stove top well.)
