So as long as I agree with a majority of credentialed individuals my credentials don't matter?  Is it all majorities that this rule applies or is it only super majorities?

At least NDT has his doctorate. The majority of this forum have higher degrees of formal education than Bill Nye.

Here is one that I've read a few articles from- https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Don_Easterbrook

Some of these scientists pushing global warming have been paid $90,000 per speech of five in one year, not to mention all the other speeches they got paid less of the same year. $450,000 would influence what they say, don't you think? If they are running down other scientists for pay?

No doubt there is too much pollution, but is it creating global warming. What explained the other global warnings and coolings? 1400, 1500 AD glaciers marching down the mountains in the Alps. Sometimes a quarter mile in one day, so historians say. A 1,000 years ago the Vikings never mentioned icebergs between Canada and the island east. This is not modern day scientists documenting, but any scientists worth his salt pays attention to what has been written in history about the earth and its changes. These are only two out of hundreds if not thousands of what people have written about the climate they were living in.

We keep hearing about diversity or lack thereof in STEM. Its unfortunate that Tyson chooses to waste his fame to push DailyKos leftism and stale Democrat talking points. He cheapens himself, Chomsky style.

According to Wiki, Nye has a BS in engineering from Cornell. That's fairly legit - doubt most of the forum could claim that.

Also, isn't this a thread about guns in society and not anthropogenic climate change?

I'm not impressed by a bachelors from Cornell. Most federal level politicians are lawyers from Ivy League colleges and you have heard some of the shit they spew.

FWIW I have not read a lot about climate change since it doesn't particularly interest me. I do clearly remember my fiances mother, who writes for local newspapers, that she would get $150 dollars extra per article she wrote about climate change.

I only broght it up because of the comment about Tyson's Ph.D. You need look no farther than Si valley to figure out a college education - and certainly a Ph.D. doesn't mean much.

coding isn't really the same kind of field as the traditional sciences. There aren't many kids with access to chemicals or electron microscopes but almost anybody with an understanding of coding languages could literally open up notepad and create something new.
